Description:

1972 Ford Bronco Sport

This is a very nice original uncut 1972 Ford Bronco that has received a full frame-off rotisserie restoration. It was a Western Bronco from the dry state of Wyoming that was brought back to Michigan for restoration. As you can see in the photos, it is not currently a turn-key Bronco that you can drive home, but with a little effort it could easily be done in a minimal amount of time. All the hard and expensive work is done, just needs some additional assembly work. Most of the reputable Bronco restoration shops out there have up to a 2 year waiting list for new projects, you could be way ahead with driving this Bronco sooner than waiting for a couple years. Last I heard new body tubs from allot of suppliers are way back ordered as well. I will describe more details of this Bronco in the next few paragraphs.

BODY:

The Bronco was restored in the original color, Chrome Yellow (code G). The top is the original Wimbledon white. The Bronco was totally disassembled down to the bare body tub, put on a rotisserie and sandblasted. All the body panels were either stripped or sandblasted down to the bare metal, then sealed with epoxy primer. High quality materials were used on this build, urethane primers for build up. All body seams inside, outside, underneath, and engine bay were resealed with SEM seal sealer. This Bronco has an extremely nice paint job and straight body on it. Hours of block sanding and body panel fitting and alignment went into the build. The gaps are very nice and consistent as the body lines as well. Both doors open and close very well. The paint is very flat and smooth, it was wet sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine! I have been told that this Bronco has a show car paint job and body on it.

TRANSMISSION / TRANSFERCASE:

C-4 automatic transmission was totally rebuilt with new clutches and steels, Heavy Duty bands, all bushings, seals, o-rings, and gaskets. New torque convertor and the valve body has a shift kit installed. The transfer case is a Dana 20 gear drive, totally disassembled, cleaned and inspected. All seals and gaskets replaced as any hard parts if needed. The t-case has the better straight pattern shifter.

AXLES:

Both axles have been totally disassembled, cleaned, inspected, stripped, and painted. Dana 44 front axle, factory disc brakes, 3.54 gears, open diff. Front axle has all new bearings, seals, gaskets, inner u-joints, rotors, calipers, ball joints, and brake pads. Front axle also has new 3-way adjustable tie rod kit. Ford 9" rear axle, 3.50 gears, Factory Trac-Loc Posi unit, big bearing housing. Rear axle is the Heavy Duty housing with the sloped center. New bearings, seals, brake shoes and all brake components, and gaskets as well in the rear. Both axles have stainless steel brake lines for them also.

SUSPENSION/CHASSIS:

The chassis was stripped down to the bare frame. Everything was cleaned, inspected, and painted. The frame is extremely nice! It was sandblasted, primed with a zinc base primer, and powder coated in a satin chassis black. It is very smooth and clean, no pitting or issues with it. The VIN code that is stamped in it can be read very easily. Brand new leaf springs, coil springs, urethane bushings, and grade 8 hardware for assembly was used. New gas charged shocks also installed. This Bronco has no additional lift to it. It might look like it has a little suspension lift in the pictures, but it doesn't. Sitting a little higher right now without the additional weight of the drive train installed.

INTERIOR:

The interior has the original front bucket seats and rear bench seat. Front buckets have been totally restored with new covers, foam buns, burlap, and hardware. The rear bench seat is original in very nice condition. All seats are the original parchment (off-white) in color. I have an original dash pad in very nice shape, is not cracked or warped. The steel dash has been blasted, primed with a zinc based primer, and powder coated in Wimbledon white. Brand new Distinctive Industries deluxe door panels with the wood grain insert, and new door cups. Original wiper cover and visors in very good shape.

OTHER / MISC.:

Tires are brand new P235-75R-15 Goodyear Wranglers, mounted on 15 X 8 Factory Ford forged aluminum modular wheels. Wheels have been polished and buffed to a very nice shine. All the trim is brand new. (Bumpers, beltline moldings, grille trim, windshield trim, vent windows, upper door frames, topper side and back window trim also new) All emblems, lens, marker lights, and weather strips are new. Also included parts that are brand new: gas tank and fuel line, stainless steel frame rail brake lines, aluminum radiator, stainless steel headers, hood shocks, fresh air vents for both sides, power brake booster setup, rebuilt 4-turn quick ratio powersteering box, and Vintage Air Conditioning system! I had the original tailgate latches and hardware, door latches, gas tunnels, and other misc. parts professionally replated in silver zinc which is identical to the factory coating when new.

I have taken some time to write this description and details with honesty. The only reason I am considering selling it currently is to fund a business opportunity I am looking at. I am not desperate to sell it, and will complete the assembly if it doesn't sell. I have approximately 98 percent of the parts to complete the build, allot of the parts described that are not installed on the Bronco are still in the box. The only bigger item not mentioned is I have not purchased the crate engine yet that I was planning on getting. I have the original 302 V-8 engine that can go with it, I know nothing about, I have not heard it run, but it does turn over. I have a clean Michigan title in hand that matches the VIN tag on the glove box door and the VIN number stamped on the frame. I do have additional pictures of the restoration process, and can take additional pictures if needed. This is a very high quality built Bronco, no corners were cut, the detail of this Bronco is extremely nice! I would put this next to any of the big Bronco shops out there and say it is competitive with them.
