1967 Ford Mustang
I am the second owner of this fastback, owned and driven this car 23 years, always slept in garage, modified a bit, never professionally restored but she has solid mostly original metal (replaced hood and rear valance) with a known 50 year history. Great daily/weekly driver but I won't be able to take care of her properly any longer.
Loads of extras from 30+ years available with car for resale or restoration.
Have stack of paperwork including original bill of sale.
Daily/weekly driver, mild restomod, but could restore back to stock.
Was factory Lime Gold, C Code 289/C4; repainted Lime Gold, 5.0/AOD
147,000 miles on car (about 3000 on crate motor)
Fiberglass Shelby-style hood, dual exhaust valance added when painted; all other body panels sheet metal original factory
Small paint bubbles on lower door and rear window edge
No major body damage or rust in its lifetime
Solid original floor pans and frame rails
Repainted once in '05 - bare metal, original color, added hood & stripes at that time
Originally A/C equipped car - compressor gone, but parts on/behind firewall mostly intact (vents, hoses, heater box)
5.0L 302 Ford Racing M-6007-XE3M Crate Motor
"-340 HP / 310 ft/lbs -9.0:1 Compression -E303 Roller Cam -X303 GT-40 Headsâ€(These stats based on Ford sales info)
MSD ignition coil, -6A ignition control box, distributor
Edelbrock 1405 4V carburetor (have Autolite 4100 1.12 4V in "extrasâ€)
Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold
Crate motor put in about 9 years ago but less than 3000 miles on engine
AOD transmission - Stall converter & miles unknown, fox body, same time as crate motor
Single exhaust, stock manifolds, stock 2.79 rear end - not optimal for crate motor but never did upgrade
Converted to Four wheel power disc brakes
Four piston disc front/Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation SVO Mustang rear
Rack and Pinion Steering & Tilt column -Flaming River, Grant Steering Wheel
(Have most stock power steering components for stock restoration - see Extras)
Replaced all front control arms, suspension and bushings, added following:
Larger Sway Bar
Negative Wedge Camber Kit
Upper Control Arm/Shelby/Arning Drop w/reinforcement plate
Street-or-Track Adjustable Strut Rods
Opentracker Roller Spring Perches
Progressive Rate Spring Coils
Edelbrock Front Shocks (New in box Edelbrock Rear Shocks in Extras)
Export Brace
Sequential LED Tail Lights
Pop-Open Gas Cap (with internal safety cap)
15 inch Styled Steel Wheels
New carpet, TMI Sport seat upholstery & foam, headliner
Dash pad needs replacing but I have a new one with extras (see Extras)
Instrument panel and door panels need restoration
Original console in good shape
Non-fold down seat and non-trap door with speakers installed, but full fold down seat and uncut functional trap door included in "Extrasâ€
Aftermarket temperature gauge inside console, but original works fine.
Cons-
These are functional issues of interest to all, not related to "stock vs modified" - some see original rear end as con, some want stock, etc.
-Rust bubble in the usual Mustang front door corners, and rust bubble on edge of rear window -Some small chips and scratches in paint from daily use (last painted in '05)
-Fuel tank sending unit float doesn't float, so gauge reads empty, but gauge tested okay. (I have been using mileage to keep track of fuel use)
-Small coolant leak around thermostat, need to reinstall/replace gasket
-Reverse light wire cable between AOD transmission and car needs resplicing/replacing (combines AOD plug with stock car wire to tell reverse lights trans is in R)
-Needs fan shroud, no overheating issues but exposed fan blades
-Horn is not wired to Grant steering wheel
-Overall interior needs refreshing; Has new seats/carpet/headliner but panels, instrument panel, etc could use fresh dyeing/painting
-Rubber seat plugs in floorpans missing but only recently removed to redo seat upholstery
-Oily surface on floorpan pics is transmission fluid from hose leak that was replaced. Seattle weather has kept me from cleaning the floorpan properly and replacing the rubber seat plugs
