1939 Ford Standard Woodie Wagon. Lost my storage recently. Rust-free car from the South that has a complete new hand built body installed. We used Birdseye Maple for the framing so the wood really has a pop to it. (Henry Ford saved the Birdseye maple for cars built to be given to Important people of the times.) Obviously seats, fenders, etc. were removed for body construction, however, this is a Complete car. It has all 3 rows of seats, bumpers, rear fenders, hood, inside window moldings, etc. The original Flathead engine was removed as a modern V8 overhead valve engine was to be installed. The frame is as clean as the sheet metal with no issues. The body was done in 1999 and stained with golden oak and 3 coats of varnish to seal it. Time has passed and, as I have other cars, am offering this up to a builder who may have all the mechanical skills, but not the wood skills. Finish it any way YOU desire. Restore, resto-rod, street rod, hot rod. Dream big. These cars are not seen at local shows unless you are in Southern California. I gravitated to the Woodies in the 80s to escape all the "numbers matching" weirdos. The acceptance of these cars is unanimous by both the young and old, and by the purist and modified crowd. My price is the price. Anyone reading this knows what a decrepit and needy project will cost and can do the math on the new body along with the 2 year wait and sleepless nights. Not to mention the Ebay prices on missing parts. Here is your empty canvas.
