The Model A was the first of fords to use standard driver controls such as a gas brake and clutch pedal. It was also the first to use safety glass for the windshield. By the end of its production 4849340 were made. The A was powered by a 201 c.i. engine producing 40 hp and reaching a top speed of 65 mph. The transmission was a standard three speed.
