1989 Ford Bronco II
I'm REALLY going to miss this Bronco... It's a great vehicle! Fun to drive and INCREDIBLY reliable. I'm the 2nd owner. I purchased it from the original owner in 1998. It had 45,000 miles on it at the time. I've taken VERY good care of it, s you can see. I am VERY meticulous about maintaining my vehicles, nside and out, nd mechanically. Upon stepping in, any a passenger has remarked "Wow, his thing is nice!". The interior is the best part of this Bronco. No spills, o gunk in cup holders, love box, tc. This vehicle HAS NOT been a kid-hauler. Other than the rare smoking passenger, his is a non-smoker's vehicle. So you won’t have any smoke smell to contend with. While the outside of this Bronco exhibits some of the normal wear and tear of a 26 year old vehicle, he interior looks as good as new, ith very few exceptions.
All work has been done by professional mechanics. I've had no trouble putting money into this vehicle as its needed repairs. It's been well worth it! In fact, few years ago my friends thought I was CRAZY to put $1,900 into it, or new head gaskets and a few other repairs. But it's that great of a vehicle! I’ve loved every minute of owning and driving this Bronco, ut I recently purchased another SUV and being a minimalist, don’t want to keep two vehicles. So it’s time to find a new owner who will love this Bronco as much as I have.
I had the exterior professionally detailed last year, ncluding a cut and polish to remove the oxidation. It turned out fantastic, s you can see! With a good wax job every now and then, his vehicle will staylooking great for years to come. I didn't have them do anything to the interior, ecause I've always taken such great care of it! It just didn't need it.
FEATURES:
-Power windows and locks (Note: the motor on the driver’s side has been replaced and is slow to roll up during the colder months, ut still works and is very strong!)
-A/C (Note: It needs to be replaced. More on that later.)
-Cruise Control
-Tilt Wheel
-Automatic Transmission
-4x4 with locking hubs
-Only 149,000 original miles!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCEPTIONAL BRONCO:-The engine starts and runs fantastic. It’s one of the best features of this Bronco. I’ve always had the work done by professional mechanics. If something has needed repaired, ’ve had it done. That’s why it stillruns great.
-Additional leaf springs added in the back-end. This eliminates back-end sag common in these little SUV's. The work was performed by a local 4x4 truck accessory company here in Boise approximately 15 years ago. Gives the vehicle a sporty stance.
-Nearly immaculate interior. Minimal wear on driver's seat, rm rest, few dash cracks, nd a very small burn on the passenger’s seat from one of the few times a smoker has ridden in the vehicle. Hard for me to get too upset at that however, ecause it was my father who caused this. Just one of those things… But other than, he interior is in excellent shape. Carpet looks like new and I've never had it shampooed! I took the floor mats out for the pictures, ut they are included. Red to match the interior, ith a heavy-duty black rubber mat for the driver's side.
-Always carport kept.
-The drivers, assengers, nd back windows have professionally applied 3M window tint to keep the interior cool and looking great. There is however a small scratch in the tint and some minor rub marks on the drivers side tint. This happened during thewindow motor repair. The rear quarter panel windows came with factory tint.
MORE GREAT FEATURES OF THIS WELL-KEPT BRONCO:
-All work done by professional mechanics,
-Well cared for inside and out.
-Custom wheels and new tires, urchased just last year, -24-14, rom Les Schwab, 0/950R-15/6 104R Wild Country XTX Sport All Seasons. Plenty of tread left on these tires!
-New battery, nstalled last year.
-New alternator installed last year.
-Transmission flush approximately six years ago.
-Two hide-a-keys located on this vehicle, ne magnetic.
-Three gas tank keys
-Three ignition keys
-Three door keys. I'm a bit of a key nut, s you can tell.
-Head gaskets replaced a few years ago.
-Jack, ug wrench, nd lug socket intact and included.
-Spare tire is original. I've never had to use it.
-Passed Idaho emission inspection this year.
-Non-smoking vehicle
-Professionally installed tow package (receiver hitch NOT included)
-Fitted dash cover (I maintained the vinyl for years with armor all and turtle wax products, ut it eventually did crack. I then installed the dash cover and it looks great)
-Both rear quarter panel window seals replaced by a professional auto glass company. One right after I bought it and the other approx. 4 years ago.
-I replaced the center console arm rest with an OEM part after the original one broke. The replacement has a steel structure and is very tuff.
-Kenwood flip-down CD player. This player is approx. 15 years old. I do notice some noise on some CD's but not on others. I've cleaned the unit with a cleaning disk but it's still there when I play some CD's. I also have the original radio, nd it's included in the deal.
-I replaced the rubber/felt window trim on the drivers and passengers side windows approx. 8 years ago. The originaltrim had gotten brittle. This is one of the only repairs I've done myself. I originally took it to a reputable body shop here in town, ut they did such a horrible job that I had to take matters into my own hands and re-do it. I researched extensivelyhow to do it, nd they turned out fantastic! Again, ’m a stickler for having things done right, hether I’m doing the work or having someone else do it.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU TO DO SOME FIXES AND UPGRADES UPON PURCHASE:-Needs new AC system. My mechanic checked it out years ago and found there were too many leaks in the system to fill with coolant. Since it's only hot a few months out of the year I opted not to fix it. Heater works great!
-You could replace the air cleaner housing if you want to. The clips broke off a few years ago. Since that time I've used wire to hold it on tightly. It works just fine this way. I just clip the wire and remove the cover to install a new filter when it’s time, nd then put it back together. I've seen great looking custom cone filter applications on broncos like this. If I were to keep it, his is what I'd do. They look great and it’s an inexpensive fix because you don’t have to source another air cleaner housing.
-When it rains heavily the headliner near the front window on the drivers and passengers side gets a little damp. Not sure where the water is coming in from. I’ve had a window company look at it and they believe the leaks may be in the roof near the channels over the door. This has never been a big issue, o I haven’t pursued it. However, f I were to keep it, ’d have the entire roof re-painted and these areas re-sealed properly. The roof is the only area of the vehicle that exhibits any rust. So having it re-painted would kill two birds with one stone.
-The roof of the vehicle is the ONLYarea that has any rust. An excellent opportunity to re-paint it!
-There are two small dents on the left front fender. The paint is still intact, hey just need to be hammered out (if you want to). They’re hardly noticeable to me, o I haven’t bothered.
-Lastly, here is some paint touch-up that needs to be done on the front fender, ood, as tank cover, tc. All minor stuff. Overall I think the paint looks great for a vehicle this old.
WHAT ABOUT UNDERCARRIAGE LEAKS. . .-This Bronco used to leak a very small amount of oil. I’ve just always been in the habit of parking on a 4x8 piece of plywood to protect the concrete. There is still a super small drop or two from time to time, ut after having so many seals replaced on the engine, t has gone way down, f not all together gone. It does burn a little oil however, bout half a quart between oil changes.
That’s it! If you’re the winner of this auction you’re going to love this little Bronco!
