1991 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 'Police Interceptor'Up for auction is my 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria. This car is an original police package vehicle with the 'P72' VIN code and the rare and desirable 351 Windsor engine. I purchased it exactly two years ago from a collector insouthernPennsylvania. He bought this vehicle in 1995 from the state police auction and kept it in a dry warehouse for almost 20 years. It was only taken out of storage shortly before it was sold to me. I have spent the past two years restoring, maintaining and enjoying this car but I no longer can afford to keep two vehicles. So without further ado...
This Crown Victoria is very clean inside and out. The paintjob is original and shows a few blemishes here and there, but has a decent shine overall and not many scratches. Please note that the color of the driver's door is justa slight shade offfrom the rest of the car, so it was probably repainted at one point. The car was never a marked patrol vehicle - probably more like a chief'sor high-ranking officer's car. There is only one antenna hole - it is in the trunk lid butis properly plugged. The original chrome wheel covers are in remarkable condition considering their age. The glass all around is in very good shape, with the exception of a tiny chip and some pitting of the windshield. There are a few dents in the roof but these are not noticeable, nor arethey deep.
The tan velour interior is much cleaner than average, with no rips or holes, and just a few light discolorations at most. The heavy-dutyrubber flooring is in very good shape too and shines beautifully when wiped with product. The dashboard is shiny and has not a single crack in it. It also retains the original Pennsylvania State Trooper's maintenance schedule placard. There are no odors inside and no leaks into the cabin. Also, the original spare tire, jack and tire iron are intactinthe trunk.
Under the hood, the 351W engine is in tip-top running condition. I will list below all the care and maintenance that has been done. This car starts readily, idles smoothly and drives and shifts like you would expect it to when it was new.It cruises at any speed very well and has lots of power which you can feel most significantly when passing on the highway. There are no fluid leaks - the oil, coolant, and brake fluid all stay at consistent levels.

This car has been lots of fun over the past two years, but it is time for someone else to enjoy her. The odometer is not currently working (the odometer gears on these models were known to wear out or breakafter awhile), but the mileage is not far above 116,226 - I may have put as much as5,000 miles on the car during my period of ownership.Alsoto note:The battery light comes on when the car gets wet, but goes off once dry, andthe carruns a little hot on the hotter days of the year. It does not overheat though, and may just need a bigger radiator if the new owner plans to drive this car in a hotter climate. The car is in much better shape than many of these models I have seen, but is still 26 years old and has some wear and a couple quirksas previously stated. That being said, this is probably the best example of a box-body 'P72' Crown Victoria I have seen on the east coast in a few years. Please bid with confidence and don't miss out on the opportunity to own this great, classic, retired police vehicle!
