1966 FORD F100 1-TON
MONSTER SHOW TRUCK.
You already know how much I love classic trucks. I mean, I sell more pickups than practically anyone else around, and they are some of the nicest, cleanest, coolest rides this side of the Mississippi.
It’s always been hard for me to find clean, show-worthy 4x4’s down here in the South though, because most people build them to thrash, and they get beat to death and stuck in swamps rather than put on a pedestal.
Then I came across this killer 1966 Ford F-100 1-ton chassis beast that has MORE than enough GO to get the job done, but has been so lovingly cared for and cleaned that it snaps necks like a chicken farmer at every show and cruise night you take it to!

AND MAKE AN OFFER TO END THE AUCTION EARLY!
Built locally here in SWFL, this incredible truck started with a ground-up built chassis that came from a 1979 FORD F-350 1-ton pickup truck. The body was removed and scrapped, and then the frame was stripped bare, cleaned, de-tabbed, and treated to rust preventative and clean black paint.
The front is a DANA 60 that was completely rebuilt using YUKON parts and new splines, which also went into the rear DANA 70.
An NP205 transfer case activates the 4wd, which works as it should in low and high.
Front leaf springs were ditched in favor of shocks and coils, while the rear gets shocks with leafs, and the truck has a surprisingly nice ride on the highway with more than enough travel and flex for having fun too.
Steering was all rebuilt and the stabilizers and power assist make it so easy to steer and handle that your Grandma could drive it.
Custom fabricated aluminum ladder bars look great and work great too, and the chrome covers dress the front and rear pumpkins nicely.
The custom-made full show polished aluminum exhaust goes from the coated headers back, and sounds absolutely AMAZING, even at idle! Blip the throttle and it sounds like a drag car with a lift kit!
The underside is clean, solid, rust and rot free, and if you take the time to clean and detail it, it will look even better.
Maintenance and lubrication has been kept up and everything does what it should.
Twin electric fans keep the transmission running cool, and one look underneath will show that the application built FORD C-6 transmission is still like new, and leak free as well.
It has a shift kit installed, and a 3500 stall converter which needs a judicious amount of go-pedal applied to get this beast rolling to prevent you from “accidentally” crushing the car in front of you at a red light if your foot should slip off the brake!
It rolls on 15x8 WELD show-polished aluminum wheels wrapped in SUPER SWAMPER TSL BOGGER tires, size 18x39.5x15LT, which will pretty much roll over anything that gets in your way.
Power to the beast comes from a Robbie Dix built FORD 460ci big-block with a 650 lift cam, TRW flat top pistons, Cobra Jet valves, roller-rockers, billet timing chain gear set, FORD Racing hi-flow water pump, MSD ignition, and an 830cfm HOLLEY double-pumper to feed it fuel.
It gets an estimated 650hp to the wheels, and will throw you and you passenger into the seat back while the nose lifts towards the sky on a full throttle launch, and you tear away down the highway.
FluiDyne was tapped to build the custom one-off aluminum hi-flow radiator with twin electric cooling fans, and the truck says under 200 all the time, no matter what.
Of course, all new lines, hoses, seals, and everything else were done during the build, and remain in exceptional operating condition to this day, and the truck has not leaked, weeped, or marked its territory on the shop floor during my time with it, even after a long cruise.
New fuel tank was mounted under the bed, and got a hi-flow pump and all new lines and fittings during the build.
Again, engine and trans components are clean and neat, but I have NOT detailed this truck, so if you take the time to do so, it will look even nicer than it already does.
Under hood, the original firewall is still intact, along with fender wells and front support. All look to be in exceptionally good condition, and the hood has new hinges to make sure it closes right, and tight.
All new electrical systems were put in place and a complete custom 1,000 watt audio system was installed by CarTUNES in Ft Myers, FL with a bevy of hidden speakers and visible ones, and two massive 12” subs in a custom enclosure behind the seat where the gas tank used to live.
It sounds INCREDIBLE, and I felt like Johnny Cash was sitting next to me cruising around with the radio on! It has a ton of extra functions on the deck, and appears to be IPOD, USB, VIDEO, NAVIGATION and SAT capable too. Your best bet would be to download the manual off the internet when you get it home so you can figure out all the functions, but I can tell you that from I hear with it playing, it ROCKS.
Moving to the inside, you are met with a clean, mostly stock looking interior that is in very good condition overall.
The dash is stock, painted to match the body, and very nice.
Functional glovebox has the RANGER badging on it from the donor truck, and the original ashtray opens and closes like it should.
A new gauge insert was installed with engine turned backround, and it looks fantastic, and the fuel gauge, odometer, and speedometer function like they should. Temp gauge, and the Alt and oil lights were not hooked up due to the other gauges installed to monitor them more accurately,
Factory knobs for lights and wipers and stuff work as they should, except the choke is not connected due to the new engine set up, and the original push start button is not functional.
AutoMETER supplied the three gauges at the top of the dash to monitor trans temp, oil pressure, and water temp, and all appear to be working perfectly.
A massive AutoGage tach with shift light also sits on the dash, works as it should, and all of the gauges are perfectly aligned to the driver perspective too.
Factory column is topped with a GRANT GT polished wheel, and has turn signal and gear selector controls that work as they should.
Dash has a padded cap on it, and it looks very good, with only a couple little blemishes to be found.
Gray OEM style carpeting was installed on the floor, and still shows clean and neat all around. It comes with heavy rubber mats to protect it should you venture out into the sticks one day.
A custom made center console houses the stereo, twin 12V outlets for charging modern electronics, and a pair of lower flip switches for aux items, and 4 smaller switches across the top, of which the left two turn on the trans cooler fans and engine fans.
A cupholder and 4wd shift control slot round things out.
A stock style bench seat was made for the truck with custom cloth and vinyl upholstery that has the FORD logo down the center. There is a 3.5” slit in the driver side vinyl. I can arrange repair for $75 before it leaves for the winning buyer if you’d like.
Fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror are a no-cost option included in the sale.
The truck has full kick panels, a headliner that is original style and is in above average condition, and the door pulls and window rollers are in above average condition as well, with light signs of aging.
Windows roll up and down with ease on good felts and scrapers, and the rubber weather stripping and seals throughout the truck are soft, pliable, and in very good condition.
Metal stock door panels are painted to match and look great.
Doors open and close as they should, and latch securely.
Tail gate opens and is solid, clean, and rust/rot free. Bed floor is solid and rhino lined, as are the bed sides.
The bed has been used, and has scuffs, scrapes, dings, and marks from having things actually put into it! It is fully functional though, and has no issues.
A large TRACTOR SUPPLY toolbox is mounted across the front of the bed and houses the twin batteries, a tarp to cover items in the bed, and has room for more storage.
All of the glass is in above average condition, with only light marks if any, and no chips or cracks, with very good seals.
Bright work and chrome is in above average to very good condition all around, and is a bottle of Mother’s polish and some elbow grease on a weekend away from looking even nicer. Clips on the 8” segment of side trim between hood and driver door are a bit loose and allow it to droop a little, but nothing a new clip won’t cure.
All of the lights are in undamaged great condition, and the headlights have chrome shields over the top half to keep from blinding the lower cars in front of you.
Emblems look great, but the XLT and hood emblems could use some light red and black paint touch up to be perfect.
Paint on the truck is a gorgeous smoky black that is deep, wet, and shiny all around, and I have not had it professionally detailed. A buff and polish would make it pop even more than it does already.
The body is solid metal, and 4 inch square felt magnet sticks to it like a protester to a sign.
Yes, it has some light scuffs, stone chips, marks and blemishes on it from normal use, but as you can tell from the 100 photos in the listing, NOTHING that takes away from the overall appearance.
This truck shows GREAT! Check out the videos of it I posted, and you can get an idea of how it looks rolling down the road as well as the view from the cab.
It starts with ease, idles cleanly, and needs just a minute when cold to get everything up to operating temp before you’re ready to cruise.
Slip it into gear, and the truck pulls away with a throaty rumble and is ready to go wherever you dare to take it.
It drives remarkably well on the road, and handles and steers so good that anyone with a driver license could pilot it without issue.
It cruises at a GPS verified 55mph as good as most 2wd classic trucks, and the tires are so wide they ride over road grooves so there is no side to side pulling or wander.
Braking is sure and smooth, and the truck stops without any pulling or jerking thanks to massive disc units up front and giant drums in the rear.
I have NOT taken the truck into the woods or the mud, but we have put it in the field by the shop and checked the 4wd system for functionality and it works as it should. In retrospect, I wish I would have taken it somewhere you could play with it more, because it is probably a blast.
I guess that’s about it. If you want more info, call me at 941-286-0889 for fastest response.
