Description:

1968 Ford Mustang 2-Door Hardtop

This is a 1968 Ford Mustang 2-Door Hardtop. It has been garage kept for over 20 years. I purchased this with the intention of restoring it however I have some emergency homeowner repairs that need to be done. My loss is your gain. Engine turns and wants to start (I did not start it to preserve the engine). Please see video at bottom of first attempt. This car has a lot of potential and is all set up for speed. The following is what I know:Ladder bars in rear.High performance mufflers.Wide tires in rear.V8 engine under the hood (appears to be a Crate Motor as it has no VIN identification on the engine number plate--blank). Unfortunately I do not know the size. It does turn (not seized) and did pop today upon cranking. It wants to start! It appears to have aftermarket components (high performance) under the hood. It should be a fast ride and fun project. The carpet and headliner appear to have been redone at some point in the past. The 4-Speed on the floor seems to be original. Dash is in excellent condition. There appears to be very light bondo or body work to the right rear quarter (wheel well). It appears to NOT be rotted and can be fixed rather simply. The body is in great shape and very clean. Very minor rust (mostly the front light cups under hood-see photos). What the VIN tells me: 1968 Model, Made in Metuchen, NJ, Hardtop, 200ci 6-cyl engine. As you can see in the photos, this car was being converted for racing. Wide racing tires in the rear (they do not hold air long due to their age). It appears there was a lot of suspension work done to this car. Front sway bar, Control Arms (A-arms), Ladder bars, etc. Exhaust has been done. There are no keys for the car however a lock set can be obtained (as well as any other parts) rather cheaply. Since replacement parts are inexpensive, this would make an awesome father/son winter project (what I intended it to be before the emergency). It is a very sound candidate for restoration and the perfect way to have a 68 Mustang for not a lot of money. One that you can drive and not worry about enjoying. More pictures available via email as I was limited to 24 (don't know how to add more than that). A Bill of Sale will come with this car. I can obtain a title if you are willing to wait an additional 3 weeks before registering it. Being NH, Titles aren't issued for antique cars. Feel free to ask me any questions. Pickup is from Conway, NH. Good luck and happy bidding!
