RARE 1993 Eagle Talon TSI AWD 5spd 2.0l(4G63) Turbo Very Low 70k miles 2-Owner

DSM Diamond Star Motors, This example did Not come with the optional Anti-Lock Brakes for the more purist feel, nor sunroof for reduced center of gravity.

For Your Consideration:

A Completely Original, Unmolested, Unmodified Example. Numbers Matching, Original Turbo is excellent condition. Compression Numbers within 2-4%. Pictures of Scoped Beautiful cylinder walls included with purchase. It even retains the crappy original early 90's CD player.

An incredible opportunity to own an exceedingly rare vehicle with a very low ~70k miles. When a new vehicle averages $47k, buy this classic for a pittance and watch your asset appreciate. I purchased this car following the passing of its 92 year 1st owner, who owned the car for over 25yrs of its life. (More History below).

The top half of the ad will be an overview of the car itself, history, values; followed by a more detailed account of precise condition, which will be considered extreme nit-picking, so please receive it as such keeping in mind this car is over 30 years old, being sold as-is with No warranty. All is being disclosed to the best of my ability and in good faith.

This Car's Ownership History:

The car was originally delivered in Illinois 12/12/92 to the Bill Walsh Automotive Group. The car soon made its way to Colorado where it was purchased by the 1st Owner on 12/30/1994 as their retirement vehicle and was in their ownership for 25+ years. I bought the car on 9/24/2019 following the passing of the 92 year 1st owner. I have put 5k miles on the car in 4 years. The car is being sold with a clean title seen in the pictures with associated documents.* Update - The auto report shows a minor claim being filed in 2012.

Condition:

Exterior Details:

The paint is original to my knowledge except for the roof. Prior to my ownership, the car had a bad repair job from light hail damage on the roof, I paid $1400 to have it professionally repaired, but it does have a few superficial marks from my new dog walking on the roof. Still in need of some minor body work and paint(shown in pictures): rear driver side quarter panel, passenger side below A-pillar where the door and passenger quarter panel join, a small spot on the very front of the hood. The front bumper shows some stress lines. Clean under carriage, with no rust. The exterior trim around the windows has deteriorated some (Some 2nd hand replacement pieces included). The windshield on both very top corners have small pressure cracks that were sealed with windshield silicone.

Interior Details:

All switches work as do all interior lights. A/C recently charged and working well, with a slight hum when on high. The rear seats on the top show some fading. The dash has No cracks, but there are two sections that need to be reglued, but is otherwise in great shape. The shift knob is showing some wear. The hatch struts need to be replaced again, I did this when I bought it, and would suggest getting stronger ones, not the default recommended ones.

Powertrain Details:

Upon buying the car I wanted to address the car sitting idle for much of its life, this was done by first using BG EPR to clean the engine per instructions, followed by immediate oil change with new oil filter and fresh Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 oil. I drove the car for 300 miles, then drained and replaced oil and filter again with fresh T6 to remove any excess of BG EPR. The engine rev's nicely, turbo spools nicely, but I would double check the wastegate actuator. It was sticking some, but hasn't since I took it apart to check the turbo. Transmission shifts nicely, and the clutch engages nicely. AWD works as it should.

The valve cover gaskets were beginning to leak some, but was not dripping, so replaced the gaskets, I thoroughly cleaned the valve cover. I did a basic tune up, new air filter, spark plugs and wires. I did a dry compression test during this time and all pistons were within 2-4% of each other. I scoped the engine and will include pictures of the cylinder walls and turbo to show the pristine condition of these critical components.

The A/C system has been converted to R134a and was charged last year, so nice and cold.

Timing Belt was replaced April 2006 around 60k miles.

I was told the first owners children are the cause of the cars exterior blemishes. The wheels need a refinish, as one or two shows evidence of some curb rash, the car could use an alignment and the wheels should be straightened as a precaution (even new car wheels need straightening). I think I lost a wheel weight as there is a slight vibration at ~70mph. The struts are original and could benefit from being replaced as well.
