I bought this 1956 Dodge pick up truck in 2017 from a estate sale at a local farm town within 2 hours from me. I was told by the family that the truck had been parked in 1988 when the previous owner became disabled. It has sat in a shed until I bought it. I was told that the 40k miles are actual. I saw in the owners manual documentation of mileage as the previous owner did repairs to the truck through out the years as well as a oil change sticker that also documents the miles.
I brought the truck home and had my shop go through the engine and brakes and got the truck running. I decided to keep the original blue paint for the patina and had the truck clear coated. The white roof, wheels and grill were painted white at that time. All solid and NO bondo or filler was used. It retains the original dings as they only add to the patina. (see video and pics) The driver door glass and passenger vent window have cracks, the other glass looks good. The doors open and shut the way they should and the windows go up and down the way they should. the floor pans are solid. the box bed is the original wood and is in great shape. This 3/4 ton high side pick up truck is running off a 12 volt system. The headlights,, tail lights, blinkers, wipers, gauges, etc are all working. (the headlight switch is touchy) The bottom part of the seat should be recovered as it has a seat cover on it. this truck comes with a clean and clear matching numbers title ready for you to register.
This truck has great patina and gets smiles and thumbs up every time we used it in the local parades and around town for the last year or so we had it. It is a great daily driver that can be used right away with minor tweaking etc. Look at the video as we were driving around 55 mph with no play or issues. drove really nice.The 4 speed trans and clutch work the way they should. This is a very rare survivor being that it is the high side big rear window truck.
