1968 Dodge Charger

For sale, 1968 Dodge charger, I restored several years ago, less than 300 miles on it since 2010. Time to sell as i don't drive it enough. originally a California car I bought out of Pensacola Florida. Left the factory as a maroon and white 383 auto car. was partially restored when i bought it. Everything on this car was restored, fixed, replaced or bought new. however a few things need attention. I'd say its about 97% finished. a few bugs to work out.

BODY- as stated above the car came from California, mini9mal rust. the front floor pans were in perfect shape, the rear trunk pan was replaced as were the lower quarters. all this work was done prior to me buying the car. the hood and fenders were in excellent shape. I had the car completely taken down and redone in Black. over all the paint is about an 8 on a scale of 10. there are a few blemishes in the finish. there is a scratch on the drivers door that i touched up but it is deep enough that it needs to be sanded an repainted. it was a vinyl top car but i elected not to put it back on. the roof seem is visible in the paint. overall it looks great. all the glass is new with the exception of the rear window and vent windows. the windows open and close but could use an adjustment. the trim is a combination of new and original stainless steel trim. polished nicely. the grill is crack free and works good. original vacuum doors and pump. new bumpers front and rear, all new reproduction lights. new gas tank, and fuel lines.

INTERIOR- all new interior, new head liner, all new door panels, arm rest, seat covers, seat foam, padding, deck panel. carpet. seat belts new. dash gauges restored cost $1000, the speedometer cable has become disconnected, because of an injury I cant reach up under the dash and hook it up, same with the ignition switch. heater box restored, core was pressure tested. new AC duct work. under dash harness restored, new rear tail light harness, new engine harness, restored original front light and vacuum head light lines/harness. new rebuilt steering column. however the turn signal switch has a short in it and it blows the fuse. needs to be pulled and replaced. Non correct steering wheel. I couldn't find a correct wheel for it but i think they are available now. the radio is not installed however i have a correct thumb wheel radio that has been wired for MP3 player. looks correct but will play new tunes. No speakers are installed, i didn't want to cut the new door panels. needs the card board glove box installed. under dash air box was completely restored but everything under the hood for the AC was missing so I installed a Classic Car Air Conditioner system. everything under the hood is new but I never got around to charging the system.

ENGINE/Transmission - As stated above the car was an original 383 Auto car. the motor was junk when I got it. I bought a 440 rebuilt from a engine shop in Las Curces, NM. it is a 1967 dodge block. it is rated on the dyno at 425 HP. i came complete oil pan to carburetor. edlebrock 625, accel coil, headerman headers, starter water pump. ect. I've had issues with the carburetor, It's been rebuilt twice, I Don't like it and was going to go with a holley. the problem is the car sits for long periods. I have the paperwork for the engine somewhere. has electronic ignition, I have a period correct hemi fan for it but haven't installed it. radiator was cleaned and tested. new power steering pump, the PS box rebuilt, the 727 was completely rebuilt, has a 2500 rpm stall converter in it. Complete new exhaust system, flow master 44 mufflers.

BRAKES/CHASSIE- all new brake system, pads, cylinders, parts, brake line, hoses, master cylinder/booster. the brakes work ok, because it sits for long periods the brakes are soft. I think the booster is not drawing enough vacuum. all new front end steering and suspensionparts, tie rods, sway bar bushing, upper and lower ball joints, new shocks. wheel bearings. new tires on 1970's vintage vented dodge police steel rims, dog dish new old stock hub caps.

I'm sure i'm forgetting some things done to this car, I spent a considerable amout of money and time building the car. I'm not giving it away. however i'm looking to break even. it has been appraised and insured for $55000.It needs a few things done to finish it up, but it runs, drives, and stops. I am open to serious offers. IT DID NOT come with a title, it will be sold with a bill of sale. Georgia doesn't require titles on older vehicles. I do have some paperwork for the car from California.

I will add interior pictures later today

On Jul-26-18 at 10:00:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

I was going through the paperwork and found the California title for the car. I added the interior pictures, they are a bit dark, the car is covered up and in the garage.
