Description:

1974 Datsun Z-Series 260Z

No Reserve Auction for this 1974 Datsun 260Z - a rust free Nebraska car with a beautiful basecoat/clearcoat bright red paint job. The paint is shiny and smooth with a deep gloss, nd still looks wet. The car was partially disassembled including glass removed for paint, nd afterward all new weatherstrips were installed. The black interior received new 260Z embroidered leather seat covers and carpet. The factory original 2.6 liter inline 6 engine with dual carburetors is underhood; the only engine modifications are a pair of Weber carburetors with free breathing K&N air filters, n exhaust header, nd an Accel coil. The engine starts easily with no smoke, nd runs nicely with strong oil pressure, nd the 4 speed shifts smoothly. All the guages work except the clock. The car has a set of period-correct aluminum wheels with brand new tires. The Walker exhaust system and battery are also brand new. This car is ready to be driven and enjoyed - it's not a show car, ut rather an very nice driver. Notice the attention to detail on this car!
Fully restored 240Z, 60Z, nd 280Z cars are $20,000 and climbing, ut this one can be purchased for far less. This is a three owner car with 65,506 miles (believed to be original). The AutoCheck report verifies the car lived almost its entire life in Nebraska. I could find no evidence of any rust or sheetmetal repair on this car, nd no underbody patch panels. There is the beginning of a bubble on one wheel lip that I believe may have been caused by an impurity on that spot when it was painted, t does not look like a rust bubble (see photo). Please see the 24 detailed photos including the typical rust areas, uch as both floorpans, uarter panel dog legs, nd battery box, nd contact me if you'd like additional specific photos.
There are a couple very minor parking-lot-type dings on the car, ut no paint chips. The car has a newer CD stereo that needs power hooked up, here are no speaker holes in door or trim panels (rear speaker enclosures are sitting in cargo hold). Car is being sold as-is, ithout any written or implied warranty. Inspections are welcome. Please contact Frank at 248-930-7701 (between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm EST) with any questions. Thanks!
Note: Car is being relisted, s my previous auction had zero-feedback bidders which I cancelled. If you have below 5 feedbacks, lease contact me before bidding.
