This Arizona car, has just been freshened up after a seven year rest in the garage. This is an original, fully optioned car, with all systems functioning properly. Recent work to car: Engine: Changed fluids, basic tune up, runs quiet, smooth, powerful. Clutch and brakes function properly. Transmission shifts smoothly. No Noises. Factory Alloy Rims, professionally refinished ti their original condition/ New Tires. Interior: Fresh carpet and original seats recovered.Dash Cap. ALL - the gauges, lights, wipers / squirters, A/C, Seat buzzers, courtesy lights, and CLOCK work as they should! Interior is in excellent condition. This car was repainted about 15 years ago......Thankfully, they did an inexpensive spray over. All the jambs and motor compartment were left in the Black pearl color.The last few photo's show the black pearl under the side mirror mounting area, door jamb, and under hood. This car is mechanically sound, has a beautiful interio, New tires and Rims. To finish this car to it's Original state - you will need a paint job to its original color, removing the sunroof in the process. There are plenty of cheap 78 donor roofs out there.( 5k- should generously,cover all cosmetic work) OR Just leave it as is.......and enjoy. It is otherwise an All original fully capable car. History of the Black Pearl edition: 1978 was the last year of the original z car body style. It was the 1st year for the 5sp Manual and The first time black was offered on a Z car. To celebrate the changes each dealer was given 1 or 2 of these cars. (totaling 1600 max.) Production for 1978: 91,172 280z were produced. Of those..... 1,600 were Black Pearl Editions with the SAP package. .....Of those 800 were 5sp manual cars......Of those 200 came fully equipped with A/C and the separate Premium Alloy Rim and Tire package. This is 1 of those 200 cars. How many of those 200 still exist? Numerically,...........these are possibly the RAREST Z models of the collectible era. 1 of 200 of 91,000......you do the math. This car will be worth $$$$ in the very near future. I have seen 2 others sell in the last 6 months; for $24,500 and $40,000. Both had less miles, and the lesser one was a restored model, without the Premium wheel package. I believe at minimum - this car to be equal to that car, in value......after the paint work, This is REAL current sales pricing, a few years from now??????
