Description:

1961 Chrysler 300 Series New Yorker with power windows and seat.

This is my 1961 Chrysler New Yorker Golden Lion two door coupe project. This is a rare power option car with power windows and power seats, 413 V8 engine and automatic push button transmission. I have not tried to start the car but the engine does turn over by hand after I oiled it up. This Car is all stock and has only 49,495 original miles. The last time it was driven was in 1992. It is a California Car with clean title in hand.
What this car is missing-
Rocker and wheel well Trim.
Top roof trim.
Back rear Glass.
Keys to car.
Rear trunk lock.
Chrome trim on the back below the trunk lid does not go with the car.
This car needs new floor pans and trunk pan due to rust. This car sat outside with broken front and rear windshilds since 1992. You can buy new floor pans for around $305.00 and the trunk pan for $182.15 online.
I also have two other Chryslers for sale on ebay too. A white 61 New Yorker coupe and a 1965 Chrysler Newport coupe.
Call Bob @ (818) 517-0596. I can also send more pics on request.
The New Yorker entered 1961 with a new grill, slanted headlights, and a continental kit on the trunk lid. The 413 CID "RB" Golden Lion V-8 continued. This is the last of the "Forward Look" models. Chrysler built 2,541 New Yorker two-door hardtops this year, the last until 1964 in Canada and 1965 in the U.S.
1961 is the last year of the Virgil Exner design. Virgil Max "Ex" Exner Sr. (September 24, 1909 - December 22, 1973) was an automobile designer for numerous American companies, notably Chrysler and Studebaker. He is known for his "Forward Look" design on the 1955-1963 Chrysler products and his fondness of fins on cars for both aesthetics and aerodynamics.
