1974 Chevrolet Blazer
Up for sale is a 1974 Chevy K5 Blazer 4x4
I am a friend of the original owner who bought her new in 1974 who passed away. This is how it came into my hands recently. This Blazer has been well-kept, but ready for a refreshing which I started. I have been rebuilding cars for 40 years, but unfortunately, Father-Time has caught up with me. I just can't get it done because of a bad back and knees. This is a good K5 with sound bones. All is good except for the hood (rust indicated). It is currently painted in a Chevy (1969 Corvette color) metallic Fathom Green (originally Chevy gold) and white. The interior has been started. The seats have been recovered in a Black/White houndstooth, and the inside has been Rhino-Lined. Many upgraded parts have been purchased and ready for install:
1. Hydro-boost Power-Steering assist braking system. I installed this exact system on my 1972 K5, and it is fantastic! My 72 stopped on a dime! A must-have for these big heavy trucks. Parts include new lines. proportioning valve, break canister, master cylinder, brake lines, and I topped it off with a high-quality Saginaw hi-volume power steering pump. 2. All new tie-rod ends, drag link, pitman arm, brake calipers. Included are the 4" lift springs and blocks, along with the NEW Soft-Ride Suspension system with 4 new Bilstein Shocks w/boots. In all, I spent around $8K in replacement/upgrade parts. So many parts, badging, new side windows, seals, window cranks, aluminum radiator, new fan shroud, etc.
ENGINE: 18,000 miles on rebuilt 383 CI Stroker, approx. 400hp
Transmission: TH350 Transfer Case: NP203 Axle: 12-bolt Rear, 10-bolt Front This K5 runs strong without any leaks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with skilled hands to create something special to park in the garage. These finished K5's are up in the mid-$40K range now, and they are increasing in value with every passing year. I am super sad to let her go, but she needs a better home and owner. Low reserve! Good luck!!!
