1965 Chevrolet Impala

1965 Chevrolet Impala SS [SS VIN number correct]

Owner: Rudy in Murrieta/Temecula California USA. Title & insurance & registration current for 2023.

Documented SS [VIN 16667…]:This car is a daily driver ready to go anywhere. What’s important to you is it has all the body parts, every one of the correct “original” trim parts on exterior and interior, convertible top and mechanism, rally wheel trim is real SS car, etc., etc. You don’t have to go searching for Chevy SS aftermarket replacement parts & pieces that you won’t find AND IF you do find them they would cost you incredible amounts of money & endless days, months or years in the search! And… using “aftermarket”, trim, pieces, etc. is not the same—and never fits right—and often doesn’t look quite right. An example: try to find those bullet tail lights!

Functionality: Where on earth are you going to find 65 SS convertible that has been driving regularly on the roads of California since 1965! Find another one like it?!? The automatic top goes up and down perfectly—like when it was new. Are you acar guy—then you realize the first thing to go in an old car, of this vintage, is that ancient motor and pump for the convertible top—but this one still works! Gauges work. Blinkers & brake lites work. Headlights work. Brakes work. Transmission shifts. All dash knobs are there and work. Engine runs smoothly. The radio is still working w/antenna. Visors work. Door handles, locks & window cranks ALL work. Original interior is still comfortable. Amazing for a car that’s almost 60 years old!!!

Future needs: You decide, fresh paint that would be great. New interior, probably not necessary—maybe a little touchup. Wheel treatment – have the rally wheel rings polished and the dog dish re-chromed maybe? Obviously all the chrome could be redone. And, the stainless could be polished. Or take out any stainless scuffs the car acquired over the decades!

Or, go full restoration. Taking it back to original. That would require you locating a period correct 283. (Currently running at 350.)

Or, go frame off… all the original parts are there.

Or, go full Resto and put a new frame under it and put a serious LS engine it!!!
