1978 Chevrolet Corvette

FABULOUS Chevrolet Corvette in excellent condition...I am the 3rd owner, and i have the original and the second bills of sale......The car came from Connecticut. First owner bought it Arlington, Va. on August 21, 1978 for $12,427.88 from Rosenthal Chevrolet. The second owner bought the car from Bob Riley Oldsmobile in Manchester, Ct. on October 26, 1981 for $10,816.00. Mileage at this time was 32,810 miles. There are various service docs that document the mileage with the latest being April 5, 2021, mileage shown as 64,621. I purchased the car about 1 year later from the Connecticut Corvette Center and mileage now stands at 65,107. I also have about half of the tank sticker in pretty rough shape, but you can sorta read it......

The car is bright yellow with brown interior, L-82 engine, 4 speed, power windows, air conditioning, tilt steering, electric rear defroster, am/fm stereo, sport mirrors, gymkhana suspension, conv. light group, i have since added the chrome slotted aluminum wheels, and have completed the engine mods. Also, the center stack of 5 gauges is powered by a circuit board and i have a brand new one, plus a new quartz clock and a new oil pressure gauge that will go with the car.........the new circuit board will improve the gauge lighting and performance.........i just bought a power antenna for the car also........

Okay, now to explain what I did to the original L-82 matching numbers and still is As you know the original horsepower of the L-82 motors new was only 175 - 220 at the crank......what I did was install high flow aluminum heads with larger ports, all ported & polished, with larger valves and springs. We also installed a new timing chains and gears..They are made locally in Mooresville by Gibbons Motorsports. Look them up.........They are well known engine builders in Nascar circles. To complement the heads we installed a Comp Cam. This the one Gibbons recommended for the heads, also installed a larger Holley 4 barrel carb, a 4 row aluminum radiator, redid the brake system, installed 4 KYB shocks and a full chambered free flow exhaust system from the manifolds back..We also eliminated all the pollution stuff on the engine......When you see the driving video you will it hear it before you see it, it is very hard to miss this car. Also, last week, i had the car dyno tested, and they did 3 pulls......the car is putting 250 horsepower to the ground and almost 300ft/lbs of torque....That is the equivalent of a over 300hp at the crank..They give you several graph sheets, one with the highest horsepower pull and the other shows all 3 pulls..i can tell you there aren't to many C5 or C6 corvettes that can run away from this car...This is way it should have been built, the max of 220hp at the crank just wasn't enough to give it the street cred it needed.....when you see the video, you see how well it really runs.....we will try to find a place we can do that without getting arrested, lol.........
Also, i think, and this just my opinion, that this could be original paint...I have worked very hard at getting the paint to look its very best and it has come out just spectacular....The interior is in excellent condition and is a nice change from the routine black that would normally be in a yellow car....the original radio also works really well.....and a new power antenna in the box is included
