Description:

1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS

This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is both interesting and awesome. There's a terrific story with the distinct paint, and it also has an A/C interior, four-on-the-floor, and a 400hp small block that's all ready to enjoy right now.
The color that's grabbing your attention is called Evening Orchid. The modern clearcoat application was done with quality during the car's restoration, and so it gives this coupe the look of a modern vibrant custom paintjob. But this one is actually showcasing a very interesting hue that GM offered only in 1965. Also, according to the trim tag, Glacier Gray was this car's factory color. This was only offered on a real-deal Super Sport like this one, and in fact, Evening Orchid was also only one of the few colors exclusive to the Malibu SS. So not only does this one love to radiate in the sunshine, but also you have a very cool story to tell when showing it off. And you know you're going to be taking this one to the car shows, because the mirror-like bumpers, bright trim, and black vinyl roof give this classic a very premium look. And those classic torque thrust competition-style wheels hint at the power within this looker.
The black roof is a nice preview of the all black interior. There was a solid investment here during the restoration so that the door panels, dash, headliner, and brightwork trim all look terrific. A real-deal SS means bucket seats and a center console. This one is so vintage on the inside that even the AM radio is still working. But there are a few well-done upgrades. For example, there is a CD changer to upgrade your driving tunes. And the air conditioning is blowing nice and cold with R134a. It means you can roll down all the windows and enjoy the pillarless hardtop profile even in the summertime.
Chevy's 327 cubic-inch V8 was the speedy small block in '65, and so we're glad to see they retained that displacement while giving this one serious upgrades in power. It's a fully-built motor reportedly done to the Chevelle Iron Butterfly standard that was featured in Super Chevy magazine. It includes aluminum heads, an Edelbrock Performer intake, cast valve covers, a four-barrel carburetor, and long tube headers feeding a rumbling dual exhaust. Plus, you have the right supporting components like an MSD ignition, serpentine belt system, and a large aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The full package is estimated at a street-eating 400 horsepower, and you have full control over this monster motor thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and Cooper Cobra GT tires make sure that this powerful classic is also easy to enjoy.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a terrific-looing and strong-running restored hardtop that has true distinction from the moment it comes into view. Don't let this Chevelle end up in someone else's garage, call today!
