1970 Chevrolet Impala 2 door

Impala:

The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size car built by Chevrolet for model years 1958 to 1985, 1994 to 1996, and since 2000 onwards. The Impala was Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model through 1965 and had become the best-selling automobile in the United States.Please note this is not a SS model.They stopped making those in 1969 I believe.

I am the third owner and owned it about 3 years.It had about 15,000 original miles when I received the car.It was purchased new (I have the original sticker and all paper work) by the original owner located in North Dakota dealership in 1970. The first owner did not use the car much.The second owner (not clear when he bought it) but also a North Dakota resident and drove it slightly until 1983.After that it was kept it in storage / garage (unused for about 25 years).The car has now about 19,700 miles all original and from the looks of the car, I believe the mileage to be 100% correct.

Exterior:
Original gold paint.Car has some moderate hail damage as shown in the photos and video.Car has some normal nicks and paint chips.The rear window has a littlerust on the chrome, but all door seals and windows have the rubber trim and no leaks.The high beam is original but the normal lights (x 2) have been replaced with LED lights.They are aftermarketsothey fit alittle loose.I have the original headlights and assembly parts in case you want to restore it back to new.Original chrome and badging. True to 1970's design change, 3 vertical tail lights are imbedded into the rear bumper. Wrap around bumpers are seen on the front. Flipping the trunk lid we have a very clean lined trunk with a spare and jack as it came from the dealership. Trunk contents look new except for a small piece of carpet that came off (one inch deep).Trunklid inner panel started to rust.Door handles mirror all lights work as they should.The windshield are original.One issue with the wiper, they work but the spray does not.The tires are about 3 years old with 5000 miles on it.Its been rotated and balanced once, hubs are original and mint.Drum brakes x 4 and they work and no leaks in the master cylinder. Please note the right hand side was recently hit by someone opening the doorinto it. I amguessing $600 to fix it oryou could leave it as it does not look as bad.

Interior:
Front split bench vinyl seats, as well as a rear bench are in excellent original condition, and sport medium saddle coloring as per the build plate code. Gold carpeting in nice condition flood the floor. Matching tufted and buttoned door panels in medium saddle adorn both sides, and a dark brown color wraps the dash.Just two tineareas of black spots from old felt rubbing off the seat. Suggest agooddetail and they will look 100% new.Seats no tears or rips.Looks like the seats were never used. The dark color is flash. I can promise you on a sunny day the color glares out like new.

The instrument panel sits in front of the iconic Chevrolet steering wheel.Windows, locks and brakes are manual.Does have power steering.All electronics work except the fuel gauge. You will have to replace thefuel gauge as its stuck on Full. Will come with full tank of gas however.AM radio with one center speaker is all that is included.Attached Kleenex box at bottom of dash, (not sure if after market or original). Small area ofred paint on the rear dash area where the rear speakers would sit.Not sure what happened, but appears a young kid may have done some drawing and the owner tried to correct with paint.

One major issue is the car does not have air conditioning.Up North I can see the need to exclude from build sheet but any other part of the county the car is very uncomfortable during the summer month so as it stands, a great winter car.I had a new heater core and air handler put in.The radiator was re-cored so these items all now work.The belts replace along with all 8 spark plugs.I put in 4 spark plug wires and the remaining 4 are original (wires hard to get to so I decided not to change them).Distributer, points water heater pump, power steering pump and all other engine components work as they should and are original.All fluids were replaced.

Drivetrain

The original 350 ci V8 (250 hp) with a single 2-barrel carburetor atop, is nestled into the engine bay. A TurboHydroMattthree speed transmission is attached to the rear of this original power plant, and shifts smoothly, and efficiently.The transmission oil and filter were replaced and all other minor maintenance done when I received the car.An underside visual scan of the car reveals nothing remarkable, and shows typical of a garaged, well maintained classic vehicle.

UNDERNEATH:
New shocks andthe undercarriage looks great with no floor rust.Some minor rust on the frame.

In summary, this can be used as a daily driver or with some work can look new again.

TITLE:
Please note the vehicle is title in Texas and has a bonded title as a comment.

Here is what I know.I believe the 2ndowner applied for a duplicate title (lost it) and then found and gave methe original title.Vehicle was not involved in any prior accidents and does not have a salvage / branded or junk title.Just the bonded title under the comments and the title looks like any other title.When I registered the car, the DMV stated the title I have is not the most recent one. I explained the original owner lost itbut the DMV made me get a surety bond for the title. Surety bond is like insurance and It covers the DMV and myself for claims against the prior owner if he found the lost title (its been years since he lost it and I believe the prior owner may be dead by know). However since he was paid by me with a cashier check and signed a title over, thatcan be ruled out as a possibly so no risk to me or new owner.

Per DMV I can sell the car and the new owner can register, and insure the car and title the car in his name from day one. The words bonded titlewill stay on the title with the new owner. The new owner after July 2019 can go back to their dmvand apply for a fresh title. Since the time limit is up the words bonded title will be removed and you have a freshtitle (go back to the DMV and apply for the "bonded" brand to be removed from the title). Any claims thepast owner has is against me and my bonding company, not the new owner so no risk with the new owner other than he hasto wait tell the summer to have the title change back with the bonded title removed. Check your state laws.Typically bonded title requirement last three years (some states may be up to five years) and since Iowned aboutthree the time period is almost up. Please note if your state is Five years,(I know TX and CA are three) you will have to wait that long.No refunds for this salefor title issuefor whatever reason and I do not pay the DMV fees (should be less than $50). Again, just a little waiting an a nuisance but most should not have a problem.

TERMS OF THE SALE:
Upon receiving the full payment, there is a 10 day waiting period for check to clear (even if cashier check used).I will then fedex the title and supporting papers.I will then authorize the shipping company to come pick up the vehicle for delivery to your location.
