1960 Corvette, MY WAY ...

"Bruce Fanzlaw dared to be different when he restored his '60 Corvette. By doing so, he ended up with a Top Flight Award and one of the most stunning solid axle cars around.”

Jim Campisano, Vette Magazine

15th Anniversary, Cypress Gardens Collector's Album ... "There were almost 100 corvettes at this year's show in Florida. Here are some of the Best.”

Top Six Photographed by D. Randy Riggs, Vette Magazine

Justice is Served! ... "Who says there's no justice in this world? At the NCRS Cypress Gardens Winter Regional Meet in Florida, Bruce Fanzlaw had worried himself sick. His '60 was being judged and he feared the worst. His sin? Though flawlessly restored, he painted it Cascade Green, a '56-57 only color. But it's not that simple. To make the car appear factory correct, he painted the steering wheel and column, instrument panel, etc., the same color. While the car floored just about everyone who came in contact with it, we actually heard someone say he ruined it - this despite the fact that there were a bunch of look-alike solid axle cars parked surrounding it. Frankly, we loved the '60 and were delighted to learn that Bruce's awesome ride took a Top Flight and Ladies Choice Award. Way to go!! It just shows that individuality is not dead in the Corvette hobbydespite some people's best efforts to kill it." Vette Magazine, August 1993

"Despite having a full 110 points taken off for paint, and having subtracted for the interior color, it still scored a 95.0 - Enough for Top Flight Status. That should tell you all you want to know about the quality of this car. Except for a couple of minor deviations, this Corvette is as correct as they come. It's a matching numbers piece all the way!”Vette Magazine

Approved by The Best !

My special thanks and memories go to Zora Arkus-Duntov (1909-1996), Corvette Chief Engineer; Lawrence Kiyoshi (Larry) Shinoda (1930-1997), Corvette Designer best known role with '63 Split Window Coupe; andElfi Arkus-Duntov (1919-2008), the First Lady of Corvettes; for being at Cypress Gardens on that very special day in January, 1993. Their personal signatures on the awards and photographs, and their kind words were the pinnacle of a dream come true.

Special note of thanks to Pat Weaver, Hendrick Motor Sports NASCAR Dyno-Tech / "Hendrick Engine Builder"- Pat did an awesome job of completely remanufacturing the correct numbers matching 283/245Hp engine. Block, heads, every component meticulously built for performance and reliability. Thank you, Pat!

This car was well over a 2-year complete rotisserie frame off build (every nut and bolt) with no compromises, not a penny spared. I know for a fact that the implementation and execution was virtually flawless, second to none. How do I know this? My friend, Tom, and I restored/built this car with the intention it be enjoyed for years, and that's exactly what has happened! Attention to detail and build reliability were mandatory. The caliber of restoration is apparent and proven by the test of time.

Guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go, this solid axle car conveys instant celebrity status! The photos look great, but the real test is a hands-on personal inspection - check out this car in person and you'll see what I mean!

But what good is it if you can't drive it, you ask? Let's quote Jim Campisano, Vette Magazine after taking the '60 out for a test drive one sweet, warm Florida winter evening:

"This is going to be more fun than naked Twister. With the two 4-barrels and 3.70 gears, you never think you have "only" 245 horsepower. It feels like an awful lot more... As the night rolled on, I came to a few realizations and revelations. One, these cars are not for the timid. Another was that these cars actually handle pretty darn well.”

There were many other shows and adventures that I could tell you about, but I believe it better to let the car speak for itself.

Photographs were taken November, 2018, except the photos of photos with the white border. The car runs, drives and presents itself virtually the same as when it was rolled out in '93.

Below is a short of how the car is equipped and some of the 'above & beyond' rotisserie restoration features not typically seen.

Thank you for your consideration.- Bruce Fanzlaw

Beginning with a solid, low mileage car is always a distinct advantage. I learned the hard way as a young man... "Don't step over dollars to pick up pennies." Wise words taken to heart for this rebuild. -- Bruce
