Up for sale is a beautiful Mahogany and Almond 1983 Chevrolet K10 pickup truck. This solid rig was born and raised in California spending its time on a dairy farm 60 miles east of San Francisco, CA. This truck was bought new in Sacramento, CA and was used mainly as patrol rig on the grounds of the farm. As it got passed down within the family it changed job titles and became a commuter for the 5 mile drive into town. When it retired from commuting it was relegated to the barn where it sat only being used occasionally just to keep the fluids moving. This is an honest solid ranch truck. It has not been taken 4 wheeling, been modified, hacked up. It has been owned by a hardworking family that maintained the truck to be used and not abused. Square bodytrucks have become desirable for a few reasons, They are some of the best looking trucks ever built, they are becoming harder to find in good originalcondition, many have been hacked up and modified or filled with cheap Asianmade aftermarket parts. This truck was ordered by someone who had good taste and knew what he wanted and included some nice options; It has a 350cid 4 barrel v8 motor the highest output motor you could get in 1983 for a 1/2 ton truck, It has a 700r4 with overdrive which is nice for highway and gas mileage, it also has a 12 bolt locking rear differentialgiving you that traction when needed. It has the top of the line Silverado trim and has power windows, locks and AC. It still has the stock rally wheels which are arguablythe best looking wheels that came on squarebody trucks.
Cosmetically this truck is a solid truck. The paint to 35 years old and original. Unlike many General Motors vehicles of the 80s, this truck has been able to keep its original paint, due to the mild climate and environmentit has lived in for the last 35 years. The original rock chip guards in front of the rear wheel wells are still visible. It has a solid body with no rust issues, again a benefitfrom living in a mild environment all its life. The body is 35 years old and is not flawless, there are dings and dents here and there. There are a few little scratches and various rock chips as well as some paint checking. I have included several photos displaying them. The chrome shines beautifully nothing is missing. The original rally wheels look great they are wrapped in some 31 inch mud terrains with lots of life left on them. This truck still has the original factory installed Chevrolet mudflaps.
Mechanicallythis truck is in good shape. The 350ci v8 starts up runs and drives with no issues. The 700r4 transmission shifts in all gears and has been recently rebuilt. The np208 transfer case looks and works great. This truck will cruise at 70 miles and hour with no issues and drives like a 35 year old 4x4 pickup. The brakes work good and stop like they should, There is a single flow mastermuffler that gives this truck a slightly throatier sound but nothing too loud or obnoxious. The temp guage and oil presure sending units need to be replaced.Other than the muffler we have a very original untouched truck mechanically,
The interiorof this Silverado is in decent shape the dash looks great. The carpet is original and is in great shape. The seat has a tear on the drivers side otherwise its in good shape. The original Silverado door panels look great, the only thing missing is the chrome plastic covers for the hand straps. This truck was ordered with the fancierSilverado trim and with power windows and locks. The drivers door will need a new window regulator, the passenger works great. The fan and heater work, the AC kind of blows but will need to be recharged to get maximum coldness. It does have the original radio which still works.
