1974 Chevrolet Corvette --
Two seats, a rumbling V8, fully independent suspension with 4-wheel discs, and a swoopy body that still makes kids stop in their tracks when you drive by, all for the price of a used Honda. This 1974 Corvette also packs a rare 4-speed manual gearbox, so it's a party to drive. Classic white always looks good, but on a C3 Corvette, it has, well, a classic look stretching all the way back to the original in... 1953. The '70s were a wild, funky time and our taste in fashion was represented best on the street by the Corvette. Always an A-lister, this particular car shows of why they remain popular today. The 'glass is in great shape with no stress cracks in any of the usual locations, and with good shut lines, crisp details, and better-than-new finish work, this coupe makes for an excellent initial entry into the Corvette hobby or the finishing piece of a collection. Note how well the nose and end caps fit, the total absence of scuffs or damage on the chin and rockers, and the shiny rocker trim that still looks great. There's also a chrome luggage rack to add some much-needed carrying capacity if long-distance cruising is your thing. A code 407 silver leather interior is something I haven't seen with a white Corvette, but it sums up the swinging '70s perfectly with a space-age tilt. The seats remain in excellent condition, perhaps having been re-upholstered not long ago, along with beautifully preserved original door panels and correct gray carpets. Wood appliques warm up the monochromatic interior, and you'll be pleased to find options like A/C, a tilt/telescoping wheel, and, of course, that manual gear shift in the center console, which fewer than 10% of Corvette buyers opted for despite it being a no-cost option. There's also an AM/FM/cassette stereo, so perhaps you still have some of your Bee Gees tapes lying around that would be the perfect soundtrack for this car (yeah, you know the Bee Gees are still cool). Pull the color-matched T-tops and hit the road in style. With a smooth running 350 V8 offering plenty of performance under the hood, it's nicely detailed with plenty of chrome, including a new air cleaner and valve covers, plus the stock ignition shielding, it looks well-maintained and clean. The A/C has been converted to R134a refrigerant, and there are quite a few new components under the hood so you know someone's been spending money to make this one right. Clutch take-up is easy, the shifter slips through the gears with just enough brawn to tell you it's up to the job, and the ride has been enhanced by the use of a composite rear spring kit from Vette Brakes and Products. It's not detailed for show underneath, but if you want a Corvette you can get in and drive any time without worries, one that won't have you fretting over a little rain, well, then a solid original one like this is just the ticket. Correct Corvette Rally wheels are still in place and now wear 225/70/15 BFG radials. Clean, no-stories Corvettes are getting harder to find, and this one's combination of a manual gearbox and an unusual color combination might be just what you're looking for. Call today!
