Description:

1964 Chevrolet Impala SS

Up for sale is a true1964 impala convertible S.S. The car has power steering, power brakes and tilt wheel. The car is definitely a project but is definitely restorable at the same time. Vin # is 41467 F 111698 indicating that it is a true S.S. Convertible. The car has the door jamb vin tag but is missing the cowl trim tag. I repeat it is missing the cowl trim tag. The convertible top goes up and down manually . It has the cylinders and pump but is not hooked up. Most of the trim inside and out are just temporarily mounted for pictures and visual purposes so you can see what you are getting. The car will need floor pans and braces, trunk pans and inner panels. The rockers and inner structure where the floor pans weld to seem pretty solid. Included is most of the trim. Has the side S.S. Trim molding. Has the windshield trim inside and out. Has bumpers, front is decent, rear is bent. Interior is missing door panels and rear panels, carpet. Has seats and center console. The dash board holes for the dash pad have been filled with bondo but can be removed. Side glass is in the car, missing the windshield. The sheet metal body panels will definitely need some work. Driver quarter panel has been repaired and patched at one point, rusting through again, passenger quarter panel actually not to bad. Be advised the black body panels that you see in the pictures are NOT new aftermarket panels. Somebody at some point just painted them what looks like black primer. The doors have a fair amount of bondo and patch work in them. The fenders are decent. The hood has rust through on the front lip, and the trunk has some rust coming through also. The motor is a 283 with a power glide transmission out of a 66 Chevy II with the raised filter boss. It is just sitting in the car, it is not hooked up and doesn't run at the moment. it does turn over freely though. It is not the original motor and is not numbers matching. There has been some pretty poor quality amateur patch work done in the trunk, and back panels of the car at some point in the cars life. There is a bunch of galvanized sheet metal that was used to patch areas that would need to be redone in the trunk and back end of car area, which is why I said it needed complete floor pans and trunk pans. The rear frame section is pretty rotted. From the x portion of the frame forward its in very good condition. I would say the rear section of the frame would have to be replaced or repaired. The car rolls freely, the brakes are not all locked up. The car was found in a barn as the last picture shows where it has sat for the last 15 years or so. I have tried to represent the car condition to the best of my ability. What you see in the pictures are the parts that you get with the car. If you don't see it in the picture it is not included. Again this is definitely in need of complete restoration. But at the same time it is definitely worth restoring. The car will come with a bill of sale only. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. If you would like to come inspect the car before bidding, you are more than welcome. Thank you.
