Concours rotisserie restored award winning 1962 Impala SS 409 "LIGHTWEIGHT" 1 of 3 known to exist. Extremely rare factory aluminum front end with special "Service Package" high performance 409/430HP Z11 engine retaining all of its extremely rare and hard to find correct components. Only 312 Actual miles since new and still wearing all of its original sheet metal and finished in its highly desirable factory original colors of Black with Red interior. Completely gone over front to back in late 2016 by world renowned restorer Scott Tiemann of Supercar Specialties and unveiled and shown at the prestigious 2016 MCACN muscle car show where it scored 987 points out of 1000 earning it Concours Gold award along with picking up a sponsors top pick award. Owner history is known back to the early 1960's with previous owners including well known chassis builder/racer Don Hardy and famous drag racer Kelly Chadwick this is also the car Mr. Chevrolet Dick Harrell drove to victory at the 1963 Winter Nationals. The quality and awards speak for themselves from its laser straight body to its mile deep gleaming black paint to the show quality chrome and polished stainless trim. The interior also shows as new and is show quality through with no detail left untouched. The underside is highly detailed and finished is the factory correct red oxide with correct style spiral shock and factory inspection marks and shows as nice as the top side. Documentation includes owner history, vintage pictures and copies of the Chevrolet engineering sheets. This fine Impala also features its own website at www.Z11impala.com and has been featured and written about in magazines where it has been referred to as one of the rarest "Big Chevys" on earth. The quality is second to none and will appease the most disconcerting buyer and could be the cornerstone to any collection or museum. A rare opportunity to purchase a true a piece of Automotive history that shows like a fine piece of art.
This car can be street driven with the addition of an exhaust system (original exhaust manifold will go with sale). Also all of the lettering and decals are done in vinyl and can easily be removed if desired.
Of the 3 known cars (This car, the Zintsmaster car and white ex Milt Robson car) in my opinion this is the best one there is. Its undoubtedly the best color combo and best restored example to exist.
