We are excited to have this gorgeous 68 El Camino on consignment with us here at Collectable Cars. This vehicle has recently undergone and extensive restoration, and the results are certainly a beautiful machine. The car is an SS tribute, powered by a built 396 BB, paired with a Turbo 400 transmission. The motor has been completely torn down and rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. Mileage on the car at the time of the motor rebuild was 58943.5. The engine was built by a reputable local machine shop, and the owner has all receipts to prove. Specs on the engine include 10.5:1 compression ratio, a competition 272 cam shaft, HyperFormance passenger car head, Guick Fuel 850CC double pump carb, and an Edelbrock Torker-Plus intake. The engine exhausts through 3" pipes and Big Block Flowmasters. The fuel is delivered to this high performance engine via a Holley Red Series fuel pump. The turbo 400 transmission has been built and has a B&M shift kit. Power steering and power disc brakes all around make this car easy to handle. The air conditioning has been upgraded with brand new Vintage Air. The car is an absolute joy to drive. It cruses at 70 @3500 rpms, runs straight, two fingers on the wheel is all you need. This vehicle is no doubt a fine machine, having had a lot of time, skill, and money put into it. The owner has kept meticulous records of the work done to the car, and a portfolio of all receipts will be provided to the new owner. All original parts that were removed from the car are in working order, and have been kept. These will also be included in the sale.
