1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS5

The Ultimate Survivor - Genuine 1970 LS5 Chevelle 454 4 Speed M22 With Air Con. Protect-o-Plate & Build Sheet, 26K From New WOW! This 1970 LS5 Chevelle has just been uncovered from a long-term storage in New Jersey. Kept in a heated garage since 1987 and covering approx. 100 miles in that time this beautiful example has been preserved in a fantastic manor. Exterior wise the car is code 48 Dark Green upper and lower, with the interior also the same. The exterior paint is true survivor with only some localised touch ups over the years, and documented by the original owners. The interior of the car is like a museum artefact - the bench seat, rear seats, headlining, dash, clocks, matts and carpet all look like the car left the factory last week. The odometer of this car shows a documented 26,310 miles from new, the inspection paperwork from 70 through 79 showing a total of just 18,036 miles being covered with the following ownership taking it to the 26K Mark. The paperwork that accompanies this vehicle really is a sight to behold, including receipts for work, correspondence from the previous owners to each other, even a receipt for the current Dunlop G/T Qualifiers the cars sits on from 1986. Workshop manuals are also included from the original purchase of this car as well as the glove box handbooks, please note they have were wrapped in clear bags from new to keep them unmolested and in perfect condition. The drive train has fared very well indeed, you could literally balance a nickel on the air cleaner at idle, its flawless and runs beautifully. The motor is also numbers matching and correct to the car. In the images of the vehicle you will find 8 which are separated by the present-day ones. These 8 are of the car back in 1979 taken by its first owner before passing to the second these are the last 8 photos. You will note that car has no stripes and a standard SS Hood. The 2nd owner installed a NOS cowl hood with correct solenoid and associated hardware to the car including the air cleaner set up. This particular individual had previously owned an SS Chevelle with these features and wanted it the same, hence the upgrade. We obtained the car from storage roughly 10 days ago, we removed the fuel tank and inspected, we decided to replace the tank and give the car a small tune up, it is now very much turn key, and will be supplied with the original tank if you wish. Please note from the images that the car retains its spare keys and Protect-o-Plate, a feature rarely found these days some 47 years after it left the factory. In fact, it has its Build Sheet too, to find a build sheet in such fantastic condition is a feat in itself these days, but then again, we found that hiding under the rear seat just 10 days ago! The body lines are just as they should be, the underside of the car is a true sight to behold, the car retains its original exhaust system with the GM mufflers showing some signs of wear now. The floors, rockers, rails, and pretty much everything under this car are bone stock, and just how GM intended in 1970 even down to the factory decals/stickers wrapped around the springs. The 12 bolt has it correct "Posi" tag in place and the 3.31 rear end it left the factory with is stamped with its "CRV" coding. Please observe the build sheet breakdown, this car got the best of everything in our opinion. This is without doubt your chance to obtain one of the most original, unmolested LS5 Chevelle's known to exist in this day and age. We will be adding the underside shots of the car in a day or two when time permits, please feel free to contact us for further information we will be more than happy to talk to you. If you ask a question that we do not reply to, it's because you did not read the ad in full, please go back and read it again. The last 8 photos are of the car from 1979 as it appeared then. Thank you for your time, we appreciate your viewing our time piece classic!
