Description:
1953 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door
For sale here I have my mostly original 1953 Chevrolet 3100 5 window deluxe cab pickup truck that would make for an easy original driver project or could be built into a killer shop truck or custom. The truck has a clear KS title that matches the engine number which is how these trucks were titled in Kansas when new. It also has its correct riveted 1953 body plate inside the drivers door. The truck has had a door swap to the 1950 and earlier doors without wing windows that I like the looks of more anyway. It would take minimal work to make the truck an original driver mainly going through the fuel system and brakes. I drove it around my yard today until it acted like it wasn't getting fuel anymore. The brakes don't work at all and I haven't looked into that. The park brake does work though. If the truck is going to be transported it should be go as inoperable because I don't know if it will be running at pickup and it definitely won't be stopping. When it ran it didn't smoke bad or make any unusual sounds and the 6 volt battery is brand new. The tires on the truck are just good for rollers. The truck looks to have started out red, then green, orange and now copper. It does have some of the common rust that these trucks get but not bad at all. There is some rust in the hood by the hinge area, the lower cowl, kick panels, front floors and a very small spot in the PS running board. The cab corners look to have been patched in the past. The rockers and doors are nice and solid. The fenders all have some bumps and bruises with minimal rust in the bottoms of the rear ones. The bed is nice and straight with no rust. A piece of diamond plate steel was laid over the original wood floor years ago. The frame is good and solid. The corner glass is nice and clear. The DS door and rear glass are cracked and broken. The windshield and ps glass is old and cloudy. It is missing the 3100 emblems on the hood. If a buyer wanted any new parts purchased to go with the truck I could pick them up at LMC Truck for the buyer and send them with it. I live about 25 miles from their warehouse. The seat has been recovered years ago in a cloth with vinyl trim and is usable but the piping is torn on the drivers side. It has an original radio and truck hood ornament. The previous owner took the speedometer out because the needle was broken and never replaced it. It is included with the truck. The headlights on the truck do work but the add on turn signals didn't. I have a correct replacement for the broken one on the rear included. Theres a few small parts in the bed of the truck that are for this model of truck and are included. Overall this truck would make a great builder or an easy original type driver project. Go to 1953chevy5window.shutterfly.com to view 244 pictures of almost every inch of the truck. This truck is selling with no reserve and all buyers are welcome. There's a $500 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the auctions close with full payment due in 7 days. Thanks and good luck bidding. If a buyer is wanting to do a frame swap on this truck I have the correct 118" wheelbase s10 frame that I'll sell for additional money.
