This truck was purchased new at Village Chevrolet (now Bob Stall Chevrolet) in La Mesa, CA (within San Diego County) and has remained in the area its entire life. When I purchased the truck it had just over 59,000 original miles, as verified by the original owner. Current mileage is 61,785. The original owner used the truck as a pleasure/camping vehicle. Precautions were taken to preserve the condition of the truck, as it was nearly dent free. In fact, the inside of the bed was dent/damage free when I got it. I couldn’t find a dent in the bed floor, wheel tubs, tailgate, inner bed panels or the front bed panel - truly unbelievable for a truck of this age. After enjoying the truck for a while, I completely disassembled the truck down to the bare frame and started the restoration process. The truck is all numbers matching – frame, cab vin tag, glove box spid/sticker, title, engine - all match. Included in the sale are the original purchase docs, shipping label, original key chain, warranty card, sales books and all receipts I have from the restoration. Also included are the original stainless camper mirrors (un-restored) and two new reproduction, original style chrome sport mirrors. I had not decided on which mirrors I wanted, so the truck currently has no mirrors installed. The original mirror holes were welded up. The new owner will need to drill and install the mirrors of their choice. The “Custom Camper” emblems on the doors were also removed and the holes welded. The original emblems are included in the sale and can be reinstalled by new owner if they choose to by drilling the required holes.

The bed floor and wheel tubs were soda blasted, the rest of the paint on the truck was stripped manually. Originally, this truck had lower body side moldings only. I added the upper body side molding to allow for the two tone paint scheme. The paint is base coat/clear coat GM Torch Red (Corvette color), and GM Summit White. The entire truck was painted in pieces. The complete inside of the cab, floors, under the dash, bottom of the cab, bottom of the hood, bottom of the bed floor, etc were all painted. The exterior has been color sanded and buffed and looks nice.

The upper and lower body side moldings are all new and were supplied by Mar-K. All new windshield, back glass, door and window rubber/felt throughout. New chrome front and rear bumpers. All the stainless items- windshield trim, back glass trim, cab divider trim, gas cap, bumper bolts, door locks have all been polished. New door handles, all new tailgate and taillight trim. All new light lenses. New back glass. Door hinges rebuilt/rebushed with new pads installed, detailed and painted. The entire bed was assembled with polished stainless bolts. The inside of the bed panels and the inside of the front fenders have been undercoated.

The entire chassis, all cross members, leaf springs, bumper brackets, spare tire mount, shift linkage, core support, front inner wheel wells, front & rear axle housings, rear drive shaft, rear splash aprons, Tcase shifter, brake booster mount, radiator mounts, battery tray, spindles, steering linkage, shackles, backing plates, front disc brake shield/caliper mounts, U-bolt spring pads, etc - have all been powder coated black.

The front (Dana 44, 4.10 ratio, disc brake) and rear (Eaton HO52, 4.10 ratio, open diff, drum brake) axles were powder coated, inspected and resealed. All new Spicer U-joints throughout, new Spicer ball joints up front, new Moog drag and tie rod ends. New front brake pads, new rear shoes, new rear brake hardware kit, wheel cylinders, front and rear axles seals, front pinion seal, all new metal brake lines and fuel lines throughout entire chassis - which were bent/ran by me, copying the originals. New rubber brake lines and power steering hoses. Steering box resealed. Rebuilt alternator. Power brake booster rebuilt. New brake master cylinder. New front leaf springs. All new Energy Suspension spring and shackle bushings. Grade 8 hardware throughout the chassis.

The original 350 (TRL suffix code) engine still has the original manufacturing sticker on the passenger valve cover. The engine was disassembled, inspected and reassembled with new parts as needed. The engine runs smooth and quite. The original TH350 transmission and the NP205 work and shift nicely. The carburetor was detailed and rebuilt. A new 4 row radiator core was installed, all new hoses, clamps and heater core. I tried to keep the under hood/engine compartment original looking as possible, as it still has the original upper radiator steel pipe, original air cleaner, heat riser, stock style exhaust manifolds, etc. The dual exhaust system is all new and includes aluminized pipe, H pipe, stainless mufflers and stainless tips.

The interior retains the original seat cover in excellent shape with no tears or rips (original owner had protected the seat with a cover). Also has the original dash pad with no cracks, original AM radio, original seat belts, original gauge cluster, all original gauges, original passenger armrest, reproduction drivers armrest, original door panels, original sun visors, new carpet, new glove box. The original steering wheel is cracked in multiple spots and should be restored/replaced. I’ve been on the hunt for a clean/no cracks original wheel, but no luck yet.

16.5” x 9.75” Kelsey Hayes wheels were powder coated white and new BFG 33/12.50.16.5 tires were installed. The spare tire is newer and the original rim was also powder coated white.

Other than the paint, body and powder coat, the complete disassembly, refurbishment, and reassembly was completed by me. The truck has only a few hundred miles on it since completion of the restoration. Pictures were taken of the truck before and during restoration and will be provided to the winning bidder.

Please do not ask the reserve. Thank you. Please be sure to view the 80 plus pics below.

Note: the front and rear hubcaps (4pcs) shown on the truck in the pictures are not included in the sale. The truck is sold with no hubcaps. There are new chrome lug nuts under the caps.
