Description:
1954 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 2 Door Sedan
Please read description in itsentiretybefore asking questions. More than likely it is cover below.Hello. My name is Rodney. I am helping a long-time family friend sell his 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Sedan with 28,599 Original Miles. Yes. They are Original Miles. Please do not insinuate otherwise. See picture of Title.
I have done my best to provide pictures that clearly show the shape the car is in.
Please note thatI am not a regular seller of cars on eBay and I do not propose to be an expert in any way. It is upon you, the prospective bidder, to ask any questions that you may have ahead of time. I will get the answers fromRichardand forward them to you as quickly as possible. I would think this should take no more than 24 hours.
The car is located in Christiansburg, VA 24073 and can been seen anytime between 8am-6pm with 24 hours advance notice provided.
No Trades. No exceptions.
Richard has owned this car since 1984. It has been "Garage Kept" for the past 32 years. He had the Engine Completely Rebuilt, the Body Repainted, and the Interior Replaced beforehe had it titled in 1989.
He has replaced the Fuel Pump and Coil, converted theGenerator over to an Alternator and the Battery and Bulbs from 6V to 12V.
Vehicle has Manual Brakes, Manual Steering, Wide Whites, Factory Tinted Glass, Spare Tire and Jack, Original Tire Chains, Stock Rear End, and Bench Seats.
We also have a set original fender skirts, not restored, that are included with the sale of the car.
The Speedometer, Oil PSI Gauge, Temperature Gauge, Fuel Gauge, Turn Signal, Head Lights, Brake Lights, Tail Lights, Interior Light, Horn, Heater, and Wipers all work.
There are no rust issues. Richard states the cabin floors and trunk bottom are solid.
The tinted glass is super clear and free from any scratches.
Richard washed it today,6/28/16,and found one smallverticalcrack in the Driver's windowabout2incheslong, right at the top and an inch from the forward edge. When the window is rolled up it isn'tvisible for the chrome rain guard blocks the view of it.SEE LAST PICTURE.
In Richard's opinion the paint job would rate an 8+ and has a clear coat finish as well. The Front and Rear bumpers were re-chromed when he had the car painted in late 80's. All other chrome is original. Please note the pictures of the vent windows in the ad. One shows a bit of pitting coming through. Also, these are the same tires from the 80's.
Note: The Transmission does leak someand Needs a New Front Seal. There are no other leaks.
Richard says the transmission leak is at the seal where the torque converter enters the transmission. He said this often happens to cars that sit because the fluid doesn't get up around the seal to keep it lubricated. He tells me that when he fills it full, it leaks then. Once it leaks out enough to get to the seal it stops. He drives it in town whenever they have a car show. Two miles tops. So he's not worried about it running completely out on him. This is why he never fixed it. Richard said that after it leaks to that point, it would take a little under a quart to top it back off. Basically he has learned not to fill it to the top. The local transmission expert told him it would cost around $400-500 to fix.
Note: The radio was working when he did the conversion from 6V to 12V. Since the factory radio is 6V, he did not hook it back up fearing it would burn the radio up. If it were me, Iwouldcheck out autocustomsound.com as they make radios for vintage vehicles and have several choices for the 54 Bel Air. Realize that if you were to get the factory radio working, it wouldn't work right anyway, as it is mono and all music today is stereo.
As for Bottom Dollar: We are looking for a retail number. Richard has not kept this car for thirty plus years just to wholesale it. Please feel free to post any offer you like. The listing is set to automatically reject offers below a certain number and to automatically accept your offer at a different number. Offers in the middle will be presented to Richard for review. We will not disclose any numbers. It would not be fair or ethical to others, so don't ask.
Shipping: I have a local shipper that delivers vehicles in an enclosed trailer for approximately $1/mile round trip. However, there is no guarantee that he will be available at all times. If our eBaytransaction takes place, I will put you in contact with him and the two of you can work your own deal. He has been transporting cars for 18 years and comes highly recommended to me by those that have used his services.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
