POWERTRAIN

The Allante? series received an engine upgrade starting in 1989, with 23 additional cubic inches, upping the transverse V8 to 4.5-liters (273-cu.in.). This engine delivered a much-needed boost in performance with its 200 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. A Turbo Hydra-Matic 440 F7 four-speed automatic transmission transferred the power to the front wheels. EXTERIOR

The Italian designed and manufactured body features an aluminum hood and decklid, with the rest of the panels stamped of steel. The seller states that the convertible hardtop, also of aluminum, is in good shape, as is the original soft top. The owner states that only 264 models were painted Light Blue Metallic in 1989, and that the paint is still in good condition for a 33-year-old car with only a few minor scratches, chips, and blemishes. INTERIOR

The seller noted that suspension was recently serviced, there are no leaks in the shocks, and the bushings are all in good shape. The original Bosch-designed four-wheel antilock disc brake system was recently serviced, including new brake fluid, and is noted to have no issues and a solid pedal. The P225/60R16 Michelin Symmetry tires were reportedly replaced three years ago, and the seller notes slight curb rash on one wheel.
