Description:

1962 Cadillac Eureka Hearse

Ok, here's the story. I bought this coach in 2014. It had everything I liked: fins, landau (and Eureka had the coolest landau bars), 3-way, it ran and had a good original interior. I had it shipped straight to a restoration shop in Reseda. Everything started out fine, and a bunch of good work was done—tune up, new Edelbrock carb, battery, timing, points, ignition, fuel pump, alternator, etc etc., and a full brake job: drums, shoes, cylinders, bearings, brake lines, hoses, the whole bit.
The resto guy got to work on the body, did the chrome and trim removal, did sandblasting, and then, to get at the rust, he gutted the interior. Which he did without consulting me, and which broke my heart.
Then it all went south: he got sick. I kept writing him checks and, like an idiot, didn't go out periodically to check on his progress. So all the money went to his sickness and not into the car. Flash forward a year and he's lost the shop, and the money is gone.
SO. What remaining cash I have is going into *another* hearse project, and can't go to this girl. Obviously, she's a prime candidate for a limo conversion. However, as you can see from the photos, all the original stuff is there, like the casket table, still at the shop—she could be returned to her hearse glory with casket table, some drapes, and I'm told SMS in Oregon has the fabric to redo the interior. (I've included a couple shots of her from four years ago, before work began, for reference.)
The coach and all her stuff is at the shop in Reseda but under all new management, and THIS guy is a bona fide straight-up pro, so you could decide to have him finish it, or just take it away.
I'm starting the auction at 3k, which is about half of what I spent just on the engine and brake work (have receipts).
Thanks for looking here's hoping she finds the right home!
