Description:

1973 BMW 2002tii stock factory trim

1973 Bmw 2002tii, 4 speed; The tii is completelyoriginal,*from the stock Black seats, to the oh so lightly worn factory wool carpeting, to the wheel caps. The Factory Owners manual and service booklets, still sits intact in the glove box. This is a good driving project, and can be driven home, locally.

This is a 4 speed, with factory manual sunroof, bone stock,=everything is working,== including the odometer and heater fan. *(with exception for the clock) ==Taiga is the original factory color of this tii==

A very solid example of a unmolested 2002tii, in fair to good condition - starts right up, and drives without issues, or it can be a long term Driving- project, whichever you choose. Otherwise, a realistic, presentable Driver, yet NOT a show-car, paint is satisfactory, yet still holds a shine. If you're looking for a NICE AND PRETTY tii, you should keep looking. This tii has good bones, and a 'Driver' 'project'.

THE INTERIOR; has the original WOOL carpeting in surprisingly good condition, -VIRGIN door panels with no speaker holes, -all seats are intact- also in very good shape- no obvious rips or tears,- both front seat adjusting MECHANISMS function well, -all glass intact with no cracks, -both main door windows wind down smoothly, as do the vent wing and the rear quarter windows shut snugly, --- both doors, hood, and trunk, all shut well, and the car locks up tight with key.- FACTORY Sunroof works fine, no leaks, -HEADLINER is tight, with no sagging or rips or obvious stains, no leaks. BOTH DOOR SEALS REPLACED, front and rear glass seals are in satisfactory condition and not cracking -Dash has typical (2) cracks (pictured),

SUSPENSION; BILSTEIN struts and shocks on all corners, -Yokohama radial tires @ 40% left, -the tii stock 5-1/2 x 13 in steel wheels with center caps are clean, and true (balanced and not bent nor have any eminent curb rash, -front brakes have vented rotors*, brake pads and rear shoes have at least 40% left,

ENGINE-DRIVELINE; no eminent leaks (has oil sweat-dirt on rear end cover) on the transmission or rear end- 4 speed transmission shifts well no clips or grinding up or down shifting,-eager strong engine runs hard and strong, no obvious leaks or smoking,- most recent service in late 2022 was an oil service (uses domestic oil), valve adjustment, and full electrical check-up- (less than 250 miles driven since the service)

DETAILS; GAS cap has key, doors and ignition= 1 key, trunk lock= 1 key, *original Blaupunkt working radio included = based on sale price, doors, trunk lock with keys, some chrome on bumpers is peeling off, feel free to inquire, Thanks for looking.

THE BODY; No major dents, has its share of parking lot bobo's and small dings, chrome has some oxidation in and around the body, -the undercarriage-floor pan and rocker panels are very solid, and the car has no 'structural' rust, minor pockets of surface rust and oxidation in the spare tire well, and around the corners of the car, like other cars this old, sanded and painted the tire well with RUSTOLEUM to treat and stop the surface oxidation.

Service history is limited to the last 15 or so years, as this car was bought from a older client, and that was not driven much in the last 10yrs, and it spent its last 15yrs or so in Southern California. Owned bya middle agedcouple, (who supposedly painted the tii for his wife) and eventually stating that theylost interest, and decided to move on to a different venue of car. The current owner had owned the car a few years prior to1997.

* amendment; The one modification on this tii, is the VENTED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS.

amendment; This tii is 'REGISTERED' with clean Title, in California as a 1973. However from feedback here on ebay commenting on the actual year, and VIN via research through the BMW ARCHIVES in Germany on the actual year, here is what has transpired.

This tii has a production (by email letter from BMWGROUP in Germany -available for inspection, or you can access this yourself) date of June 1972, and was imported to HOFFMAN MOTORS in AUGUST 1972, therefore any vehicle applying for verification-registration, AFTER the month of JUNE, are registered into the following year, i.e. 'technically' then, and now, it is a 1973 BMW 2002tii, by US DMV-REGISTRY protocols.

However, at some point during the production of the 1972 and 1973 models, some of the physical changes introduced, (among others) - were the fuel intake manifold induction tubes, (plastic versus aluminum)- and rear bumper corner extensions.
