After two years of owning playing and fixing things on my BMW 2002 I have decided my heart just isn’t into maintaining classic cars like it was over the past 65 years (mostly British). Time to let someone else have fun while I ride off on my motorcycle.

For sale is a 1972 BMW 2002 originally Sahara but now Shwartz (black). I have taken care of most things needing doing but have a few minor things left for the next owner to tend to as they have time / desire. Car has a Getrag 5 speed conversion after-market air conditioning (that works) halogen front lights headers and 58189 showing on odometer which I cannot swear is accurate. All the electrics now work with the exception of the rear side markers. Just haven’t gotten to those yet. Car drives nice and brakes are excellent.

The VIN # is 2576056 was manufactured on July 14th 1971 and delivered on July 27th 1971 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City.

Since buying it I have installed a new weber carb new brake / clutch master cylinder new rotors calipers and brakes in the front new MSD electronic ignition idler arm fan belt emergency flasher switch and completely redid the fuse box with all new fuses treated and coated inside of gas tank and painted outside and installed new fuel sender / pickup in tank.

What does it need: seats are original and nice but soft- could use re-stuffing has one crack in dash pad will need a rear exhaust pipe soon rear side markers need something not sure what yet- seems like bad bulbs or wire off somewhere since all other lights work and the wires seem good and the fuses are brand new right front tire has slow leak (had it looked at and tire place said they remounted but still has slow leak. Think it needs some sealant on bead. Tire is like brand new. Turn signals generally work fine but left one occasionally decides to only blink a few times then stop. I just turn them on again. Radio isn’t great but works OK. Car doesn’t have the windshield washer.

Paint is very good but not perfect call it a 3 footer chrome is similar although even better. One minor tiny bend in lower lip of rear fender- maybe able to see in picture. Has 15” Panasports with great Kumho tires. Car is rust free as you can see from pics.
