This is a very original and rare matching numbers BMW 2002 Targa by Baur. Finished in Fjord Blue with blue velour interior, this car is absolutely immaculate and a regular show car.
The car was originally restored in South Africa before being added to a collection in Melbourne, Australia. I have personally known the history of this car over the last 12 years. It is immaculate, with no rust whatsoever. It comes with a factory fitted air-conditioner which is also extremely rare on this model.
The bodywork is still extremely good with a few stone chips here and there, but nothing major. The Targa roof was recovered with double duck many years ago and looks like new. The convertible hood is as new, and the rear plastic screen is clear and not yellowed. The original mounting clips in the trunk for the Targa hood are still in place and work well. The car runs on optional BBS Mahle 13" wheels with new Michelin tyres. New rubbers were fitted to car
Mechanically, the car is 100% with not a cent to be spent. There are no oil or fluid leaks, and she doesn't use oil or smoke. The air-conditioner was decommissioned (gas removed) on import into Australia and never re-gassed as the car went into a collection. It was working perfectly before then. The car has only covered 98,000kms (61,000 miles) since new.
The interior is very clean and original. An aftermarket sound system was fitted with speakers in the front door cards. An aftermarket Alpina Momo Steering wheel was also fitted, and looks the part. New carpets were fitted a few years back, and the dash is completely un-cracked.
This car is a strong 9/10 car, and starts and drives beautifully. There is not a cent to be spent on her and a worthy investment. Happy to answer any further questions on the car.
