1965 AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 MK3 BJ-8 PHASE 2 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE. ORIGINAL HEALEY BLUE WITH NAVY BLUE TRIM AND WEATHER EQUIPMENT. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE GEARBOX. 60-SPOKE WIRE WHEELS. MATCHING NUMBERS. VERY COMPLETE CAR FOR RESTORATION.
Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very decent, omplete Austin Healey to restore. In addition to all the 3000 Mark 3 developments, his "Phase 2" single light model has all the final upgrades including revised rear suspension with trailing arms, mproved ground clearance, ush-button lockable door handles, nd larger front brake calipers. Options include wire wheels, eater,overdrive, adjustable steering wheel, oad speed tires: all the standard, sual North American Export options at the time.
This car was recently purchased from it's long term AZ owner, ho set about restoring it by starting some minor disassembly. Before then the car resided in the Midwest. This car is very complete, ith no items known to be missing. All of the parts were boxed up and all hardware items were carefully bagged, agged, nd labelled.
The body on this car is overall very decent. The panels have been loosely attached for visual/shipping purposes. The car appears to be fairly straight with evidence of an older front shroud jointing just in front of the bulkhead (picture). There is some visible minor damage to the LH shroud area between the headlight and the grille. Underneath, he car could use the usual rust repairs to the floors, -posts, he 2 front outriggers, nner and outer rockers. There is a new set of main floors and B-post assemblies provided with the car. The front crossmember was replaced and at the same time and there appears to be a repair to the LH front rail.
The car retains it's original 3000 MK3 29K engine that turns over by hand. The gearbox and driveshaft have been removed and placed on the passenger seat. The carbs, istributor, radiator, enerator, tarter and some other items are removed and are in boxes. Please look at the pictures of the parts that go with the car, as everything is there and complete.
The interior trim is the factory original Navy Blue Ambla set. The car's chrome and glass is original and in reasonable condition for the car's age. The dashboard is complete and decent. The car still has it's original period correct Blaupunkt radio fitted in the console.
Overall, a very decent, riginal, otally complete car for restoration in the most popular, esirable, nd quintessential Austin Healey color scheme. The 3000 MK3 Convertible is the most driveable and civilized of all the Big Healeys, nd will prove to be a good investment going forward.
