Description:

1976 AMC Other

1976 AMC Matador Brougham. This car is a very clean, solid, rust-free, original paint, low mile (35,613) survivor. I've had it for 10 years this month and believe I'm the third registered owner. The second owner bought it from an estate and never drove it. His intentions were to make it an Adam 12 police car tribute. Thankfully he didn't! After I bought it, I completely went through it mechanically and detailed it inside and out. It was only taken to local cruises, well cared for and always garage kept and covered.
Exterior / body / chrome / glass: The body is very solid, never any rust and 99% of its original paint. The fuel door was repainted at a local body shop. It does have some touched up stone chips, scratches on the hood (I chose to keep it original with the factory pinstripe), and a piece that was cut out of the rocker molding (left side) and replaced with a piece of stainless (see last two pics). The vinyl top is excellent with no signs of rust underneath. The underside is as solid as the day it was built.
All chrome, bumpers, mirrors, (right side mirror was bought NOS), wheel lip moldings, door handles, body side moldings, aluminum window / door frames are in excellent condition. Wheel covers were bought NOS They were an optional cover and are correct for the car. All four original ones will be included. Tires are period correct American Classic, 215/75/R14 with only 1,100 miles.
All glass is tinted and in excellent condition with one very small chip on the windshield.
Interior: The interior is near perfect showing very minimal wear. The rear-view mirror has patina but original to the car. There are no rips, tears or stains on the seats or carpet. The headliner is excellent. Door panels including arm rests are very nice with no cracks. Dash is near perfect with no cracks or markings. No cracks in the steering wheel. The car has all four original AMC floormats. All gauges and lighting works as should. Car has tilt wheel, working cruise, cold AC (converted to R134), and AM/FM radio with optional rear speakers.
Mechanical: This car could be confidently driven anywhere. It was completely brought up to par with updated items: tires, alignment, front and rear brakes (including rotors, calipers, and bearings, tune up (plugs, cap, wires, fuel filter, coil, ignition control module), front and rear shocks, front stabilizer links, trans fluid and filter, radiator, radiator hoses, thermostat, heater hoses, all vacuum hoses, rubber fuel lines, alternator, voltage regulator, fuel pump, battery, all belts, and starter solenoid.
This car is not perfect, but it is very clean, solid, presentable and shows very well. It runs and drives great. If you have any questions or would like more pictures, please let me know. I welcome bidders to inspect the car or contact a third party for inspection.
Buyer is responsible for transportation or pick up in person.
