Unfortunately my storage situation has changed, so i am forced to begin selling some of my favorite cars from my 35+ pc collection. Bummer!
Here's a LOVELY 1991 Volvo Coupe. I have owned many of these, and am a sucker for all things Bertone- and this is without question the nicest, cleanest, strongest running and most pristine Bertone Volvo I have ever seen. The white paint is really lovely and appears all factry. The original factory tan leather, as you can see, is near perfect. The wood trim is perfect- NO CRACKS whatsoever. The original wheel shave been professionally cleaned and look great! The dash is perfect and crack free- the door panels are near perfect. It is SO freakishl clean that the guy who used to be the Technical Director at the local Volvo dealer came down to look at it when I was having the belt service done and could not believe how nice it is!
In the past 50 miles I have had Marque specialist Ashland Motors replace all four tires, install a new timing belt, tensioner, motor mounts and completely service gearbox, rear end and A/C system.
I have owned a few of these, and if you are familiar with the earlier 780 with the PRV 6- Wow what a different car! While the The BF230FT Redblock 2.3L Turbocharged 4 cylinder can be a little bit rough right around idle- this motor spins up beautifully and positively SLINGS the car onto thoose highway on ramps! The 91 is SO UPGRADED over the earlier 780, it delivers 188 HP, a Limited slip Differential and beefier roll bars. It is just fun- Frankly faster and more chuckable than my 1972 2002tii.
If you are a Bertone fan like me, or a Volvo "Brick Head"- this is a car that I don't think you're going to find again. A sub 60K mileage- PERFECTLY PRESERVED Coupe. I have service records, owners manual, the factory CD changer is still in the trunk but the radio was replaced with a nice Pioneer unit by the previous owner.
I think it would cost you WELL into the $20-$30k range to make a typical $6-7kused ebay car THIS NICE. Now of course nice does not mean perfect- it is still a 28 year old car so it is not new- but the nicest one I've seen. Underneath is as clean as the op- no rust, no real corrosion or oxidation. A sweet, low mileage, garaged Bertone.
Last year when I was taking home an award from the local "Swedish Car" show- I had at least a dozen guys ask me if it was for sale- so if you are local to the Boston area and you remember this car from last August- PLEASE contact me and you can come by and see it in person!
For those out of town- I would not be scared to drive this car ANYWHERE- so fly in and drive home!
Yes it really is no reserve- I know I'll never get all of my money out of it with all of the service I have JUST DONE- but I gotta make room!
