Starts easily, runs great, rides great, looks great. Very straight, and exceptionally solid.
1.6L diesel engine is zippy enough around town, but I will be honest.. it is pretty slow on the highway. Tops out at about 60-65MPH, but is most comfortable at 55 MPH. Will go slower if there are any hills... Gets good mileage however.
I have all the CBP/DOT/European registration and title, everything you need to title this on your own state. IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA and want to buy this, I will have to get an Oregon title for you first. CALL ME. Anyplace else? No problem getting title in your state with te paperwork I have here.
Headliner looks good on this, door panels are nice.
This was the post-master's vehicle in a small town in Germnay its whole life -- It was fitted with Westfalia-style pigeon-hole letter boxes in the rear passenger compartment, but I took these out so I have more room in the back for boxes which I haul around for work. Empty slate.... you could fit a small camping area in the bac, or haul dogs, or make a small kitchen / cooking are, would make a very cool campe, #vanlife!
1.6L engine runs great, normal bit of smoky the first 10-15 seconds after it starts up and then no smoke.
Clutch was just replaced (about 600 miles ago) .
TRANSMISSION - does sometimes hop out of first gear, this seems to be the only mechanical problem with truck, and it really does not affect driving it about.
Brakes feel perfect.
No leaks, does not overheat, runs great, SUPER RELIABLE.

Truck is very straight, very original, and has almost no rust. The only rust I have found is a tiny bit on a seam in the front steps (where you step into the truck to get in) under the tiny rubber foot-tread pads. Really nothing, and much better than most every other VW Doka I have ever seen.
