We are pleased to offer for consideration this Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Bus Deluxe Pop-up. The Type 2 VW Vans remain an iconic historic figure today. The Westfalia-Werke Van Conversion Company converted the Type 2 VW Vans in to these awesome campers. Volkswagen described the Campmobile as "having a cottage that goes anywhere you want to go". These icons are still nostalgic head turners today with a lot of fans whenever they head down the road or pull in to a... campground. The 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia Campmobile Deluxe offered here remains highly original as it is unrestored. The odometer reads 62701 miles and these miles are believed to be original. The vehicle appears to have been painted once some time ago, in its original L 86 Z, Agata Brown. The body panels appear to be completely original to the bus as it still features excellent fit as all doors, including the slider open and shut properly an with ease. The paint does have some bubbling in the seams and on the bottom edges which, if chosen, can be cleaned up and refurbished with relative ease. The interior remains very tidy and highly original with the original plaid upholstery remaining on the front seats and top bunk. Thee rear seat / bed has been professionally re upholstered with coordinating material. Mechanically, it is very tight, proven and ready to camp and cruise. It is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder motor, the optional automatic transmission shifts properly through all gears. Campmobile features on this Westy include: Rear bench seat converting to double bed with locker below, swivel seat, swing out table, clothes closet with vanity mirror, ceiling cabinet, linen closet, 12 volt ceiling lamp, 110-125volt AC electrical hook up receptacle, double outlets, master switch and circuit breaker, louvered windows, cabinet with stainless steel sink, 12v water pump, water tank, fridge, stove, curtains, insulated paneled walls, fiberglass pop-up top, weather resistant canvas sides, screened window zipper flap, rear mosquito screens, double bed mattress, front mounted spare tire, foot stool with storage, outside water hook up and tartan plaid interior upholstery (front seats upper bunk only and footstool only). The Volkswagen Campmobiles remain extremely popular. The are nostalgic vehicles that represent a free spirit. Documented sales of similar, highly restored examples have achieved values in excess of 50,000.00 dollars. The vehicle offered here, although not with out some bumps and bruises, is a very usable example that you can camp in tomorrow. It also very collectible and if chosen, a good vehicle to bring to another level and remain well invested.
