1973 Volkswagen Thing

I have owned my type 181 Thing since 2012. I bought it for $5500. It needed the engine rebuilt and the brakes redone. I had my old timer mechanic do that work--he had rebuilt 3 of my engines beforehand. He was a great mechanic, but passed away in 2017. Anyway, car has needed a starter last summer--replaced it with a lifetime warranty unit at napa. I have had the oil and tune up parts replaced and had valves adjusted yearly. That is all the car has needed while owning it. It is a reliable, fun car that turns heads and it fun in the sun! Still have it's gas heater, that I have never used.
