1976 BAY WINDOW VOLKSWAGEN WESTFALIA CAMPER VW WESTY

Price: - Item location: El Segundo, California, United States
Description:

1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon WESTFALIA

1976 VW Bus Westfalia Camper.
It was recently purchased from Colorado where the owner had it for under a year after having it shipped from Florida.
Engine:
The engine starts right up and runs and drives. I haven't driven it very far as it isn't registered or insured, but from the few trips around the block the engine runs but seems the air fuel is off. The battery was drained when I purchased it so I replaced it with a brand new one. The charging system is not working seems to need a new voltage regulator. The engine drips a little bit of oil when it runs. The Efi was switched back to carburetor. The tires are new and the brakes were recently changed. I would recommend towing the vehicle.
Interior:
The original Westfalia interior is all there. The front seats have rips but are original. The dashboard is in good shape and has a protective fabric mat. The stove and sink cabinet is complete and I have tested the stove and it works as it should. The rear seat/bed is original with no rips and is completely functional; folds and unfolds easily. The upper bed is original and also has no rips or tears. The pop top canvas has had the canvas removed from around the screen. The screens is in good shape with no rips. The pop top functions correctly and locks. There looks to be a crack in the front luggage rack portion of the top but it does not affect the pop top portion. The curtains and rods are all there and seem to be original but I'm not sure. Under the rear seat a newer Power inverter, charge controller, and deep cycle battery have been installed.
Body:
Well to start, the bus has Snoopy and Charlie Brown painted on it. The body panels are all pretty straight. There are a few nicks here and there, but no large dents. The engine bay door latch doesn't engage. The sliding door opens and shuts but requires a bit of finesse and needs to be looked at. All of the glass on the bus is good and crack free. The bottom corner of the sliding door has a small bend in it.It is missing the rear bumper.
Rust:
There is some rust on the bus. The front floorboards have some spots rusted through, above the rear hatch window there are two rust patches, underneath the chassis has some surface rust but no rot. There are a few small rust spots inside the cab around were some of the older window seals started to leak. The battery trays in the engine bay have some rust as well. There was some bondo work done on the nose of the bus
