Description:

1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

This car has been owned by my great aunt since purchased new (we have a lot of the original paperwork and maintenance records as pictured), she is in her 90's now and hasn't driven the car since at least 92'. Car was last registered in 1992 according to the tags, not sure if it was placed on non-op or if she just stopped paying the tags or what. She has Alzheimer's/dementia and can't really remember why she stopped driving it or what repairs it may need. The car has been garaged since 1992 and we just moved it outside this week so we can sell it and free up space in the garage. We are still in the process of finding the title for it but we do have one original key in hand, we will assist with the DMV title process as needed (we have power of attorney on behalf of my great aunt). This will be a cash sale payable upon pickup, I highly encourage you to schedule to a viewing of the car prior to purchase to personally assess the condition for yourself. I am not a mechanic or dealer, I'm selling this car on behalf of family.
Car will likely need a full restoration of components such as brakes, gas tank/gas lines, suspension, rubber seals, etc. It has literally been sitting in a garage collecting dust since at least 1992, we do not know the status of the engine or transmission, we have not had the car assessed by a mechanic nor had any repair attempts made. If you're into project cars and know how to repair VW's this is a RARE FIND for a one owner car, with low miles with all this original paperwork. The car is being sold as-is and must be trailered from Downey, CA (the tires hold air but it is not roadworthy in its current condition). We are available to show the car to prospective buyers by appointment only. The original color of the car was lotus white according to the paperwork, not sure when it was converted to it's current orange color.
