Description:

1988 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

This is a GL with quite a bit of work done, solid, reliable, entirely road worthy. Original paint, pass side been resprayed due to long scratch, decent match. Going in to get buffed out on Thursday, will post a couple new pics then. One surface rust spot by rear window, no deep rust at all, California/ Eastern Wa car. Rebuilt motor, runs and drives smooth. 18" Mercedes wheels with T3 Technique kit, new tires. AC works, pump not installed, system sealed. Most interior functions work including heater controls, power windows and doors/locking system, interior light doesn't switch on/off with door, cruise inop, think it's a sensor haven't had time to fix yet. Motor was rebuilt because of a head leak and just decided to do it though it was running great, the miles indicated that while I was that far, might as well go all the way. All clearances were within spec, running great no oil use, using engine break in oil additive. All systems good, control arm bushings and steering components good shape, runs at correct temp no overheating in 100+ temperatures, CV joints/boots good, trans shifts nicely, doesn't leak a drop of oil. Has cd deck and speakers installed (good sound, not extremely loud), have x-overs, amp removed. I do have the third row seat.
New:Rebuilt motor about 1000 miles on it, pistons were in great condition no wear in bores.New AMC heads with upgraded valves, new springs.Grant ringsAll bearingsOil PumpCrank polish
Clutch/ T.O. bearing, resurfaced flywheel.
Battery
Some coolant hoses (not all)
Front NAPA Gabriel shocks, very good not made now, got like the last pair in the US.
Front textar brake pads and rotors
Front wheel bearings (Timken USA)
Plugs rotor cap
Vanagon syndrome AFM cable
Ernst (German) muffler
Nexen Nfera SU1 XL rated tires
Fuel injection hoses and clamps/ hydraulic wear protection sleeves.
Silicone intake hoses
POSSIBLE ISSUES:
Couple small dings as shown in pics, one small paint run, inconspicuous spot.
One small surface rust spot, rear window seal area.
Cruise control inop
Rear Gasajust shock/s will give a thump over a bump, probably bushing.
AC pump not installed, have brackets and system sealed to prevent moisture contamination.
Door panels slight warp
Interior light not actuated by door switch
For max safety rest of coolant hoses should be replaced, that goes for ANY vanagon with over, say 75k (?) on the coolant hoses. That and the FI hoses are of utmost importance in a vanagon.
