1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

This is a nice 1974 standard beetle, meaning it is NOT a super beetle! It has the stronger, non- McPherson strutfront suspension and flat windshield that would tell you .The whole car was re-done approximately 8 years ago, It was repainted in its original red color, new headliner, carpet, seat covers, door panels, dash pad, window seals running boards etc.The brake system was replaced, (new wheel and mastercylinders, soft brake lined etc.The hard front -to -back line was just replaced and system was bled with new fluid. The engine was rebuilt with many new parts in 2008,run low on oil in 2011 and thenparked till 2017.Engine was disassembled, case was replaced, reground crank shaft installed, along with new main, rod, and cam bearing, new cam and lifters, engine seal kit, oil pump. etc. Engine now has approximately 2 miles on it since the rebuild. The electrical system was gone through to make sure it all works, even the dome light works with a flip of the switch. The only thing that does not work that comes to mindis the original radio, it lights up, but no sound comes from the speaker.Car runs and drives well, steering is very responsive for a bug, brakes also work well. This is not your average clapped out bug, when you sit in it or drive it, you can tell it was well taken care of!The doors close with the reassuring click just like they did when it was new!The 4 speed transmission shifts into all gears, it has low mile on the clutch/ flywheel/ pressure plate.Plenty of tread is left on the tires mounted on chrome steel wheels. All the turn signal and brake lights etc. work, so it should pass safety inspection.Having said all this, it is still a 40+ year old car, so it will not be perfect, paint has chips/imperfections, bumpers show some age, but it presents well overall and is fun to drive!Texas title in hand.
