Description:

1994 Volkswagen EuroVan

Rare Canadian import! This diesel VW Eurovan is a wonderful touring vehicle for the ecologically conscious. Pop-top camper sleeps 4, has full kitchen, storage, swivel seats, table and awning. It has been fully legally imported from Canada including odometer conversion (from km to miles). Great mileage - about 25 mpg. (Normal left-side drive, just like all the other cars on the road.)
We love this van and have had many wonderful adventures in it. You will, too! I'm its third owner. It belonged to one owner from 1994 until 2008, who took meticulous care of it and saved all the repair records. Then it was bought by a professional couple, who drove it from Vancouver, BC to California once or twice and then sold it to me in 2010. I drove it all around the country and lived in it for a couple of months, and have taken it to California once and on numerous short trips up and down the coast between BC and Oregon since then. It's fun to drive, easy to park and fun to camp in!
We love driving it with biodiesel in the summer; it smells sweet, runs great and there are tons of biodiesel stations all along the west coast. In winter in the northwest, you need to mix biodiesel 50/50 with regular diesel. If you lived in a colder part of the world, you'd have to run straight petro diesel in winter.

Quirks:
There is some cosmetic damage including a scrape on the outside, some scrapes on the interior and the fridge door hardware is bent out of shape and not working correctly. One of the closet doors is broken off its hinge but it still closes ok and stays in place. I'm working on trying to fix a couple of these things so will update as things change. Also I hope to post some more pics soon. If there's anything particular you want a picture of, feel free to ask.
It has a slow coolant leak which three mechanics so far have failed to locate. I top the coolant up with water once every couple of weeks and it's been running fine that way for several years.
Also, sometimes the clutch pedal sticks and you have to stick your foot under it and pull it up with your toe. None of the VW-specialist mechanics I've taken it to have even succeeded at reproducing the problem much less been able to recommend a remedy. It's no big deal, just something to be aware of so it doesn't take you by surprise.
Other than the above described issues, to the best of my knowledge, it has no mechanical or other problems.
