Hello. This is a 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. I have a clean California Title that matches the 1965 chassis number. The body is from 1969. The body was once on the chassis with no fit issues. The body was taken off the chassis and stripped down to bare metal. The only rust issues on the car are on the very bottom of the passenger side door and at the bottom of the deck lid. The body of the car is very solid, including the rockers and all the lower parts. This is basically a rust free, bare metal body. The deck lid and hood have also been stripped down to the bare metal. There are a few fender fixes using the hole method. Done to undo a dent. The hood is perfect. The pans will need replacing. The engine was rebuilt when this project started. No mileage has been put on the 1600 dual port boxer engine since then. The car has not been treated with any primer or rust inhibitor. What you see in the pictures is very vague surface rust that wipes right off. The car is in one of the driest places in the United States: Las Vegas. Rust is not an issue with this car.
The car is complete except for two major components. No Bumpers and No Speedometer. All the trim, glass, lenses and other stuff are seen in one of the pictures. Someone came by my house about two weeks ago and offered me $1200 for just the body, engine and chassis. He never even saw the cleaned up glass and other parts that were in my house. I am testing the Ebay waters. I believe this car is worth a little more. Somebody is going to have a great time putting this classic car back together. Not pictured are items such as interior trim, windshield, back shield and oil filter assembly. The car comes with four 5 spoke empi style wheels painted black.
