Description:

1971 Triumph Other Luxury 4 door Saloon

A beautiful car purchased by me from the original owner in 1996, his fascinating and incredibly rare in the USA Triumph sports Saloon is a genuine Left Hand Drive model assembled in Triumphs factory in Belgium, nd sold to a senior American Military officer who then imported the car to his home in Arizona where it was lovingly enjoyed for the next 23 years before being sold to me on a set of pictures only (with its Arizona Plates) which will go with the car. When it arrived, added the Overdrive gearbox while rebuilding the engine completely with no expense spared, nd all receipts and documents for this come with the car as I did a full rebuild/rebore/ crankshaft etc. with new clutch, ebuilt OD transmission, new stainless steel correct exhaust system from specialists Rimmer Brothers, nd so on. The seats were recovered and later, n 2004 the car had a very high quality repaint, ith new windshield rubber surround, nd rear window surround fitted. The plastic dash top has some cracking which is covered with adhesive material and looks quite good that way. We did the full suspension rebuild, nd all new hydraulics more recently. I pulled the British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate in 1998 a copy of which will go with the car, howing its unique history. There is absolutely no rust on this car anywhere, nd I have shown the floors of the trunk and under the back seat (problem areas for rusty ones) and I can certainly provide some underneath shots on request. The car needs nothing but a new owners to enjoy its amazing performance. Fresh tires all around, rand new battery, ebuilt radiator, tc . The interior wood on the doors was recently professionally redone and looks amazing. The rest of the wood is good original, nd the overall interior has newer correct carpeting, nd the door panels are perfect. I am including a new old stock instrument cluster panel I bought for the car. The cars other dash wood can easily be restored but the clusters are harder with their lettering (see photo). The headliner is intact with one small patch, ut a bit discolored and could be the one thing to do to the car. I also just had the entire trunk liner boards remade and brand new fitted carpets made including the full snap in carpet floor. It is beautiful and a pleasure to use for traveling. There is some light scratches and a couple deep ones appearing on the trunk and smaller one on the hood of the car which may buff out. They don't show in pictures but they are there. There is no body damage where the scratches are at all or anywhere else. They look like maybe a cat did them, his car was originally fitted with Triumph's troubles Petrol Injection, owever the dealer removed it and exchanged it for the SU carburetor set up common to the 2500 series Saloon and Estates. It performs wonderfully and I do not have any of the Injection equipment. Very few of these cars are in North America, nd far fewer in the USA at all. A solid Left Hand Drive example with overdrive and massive amounts of money spent (all documented) will not come along again. Ask all the questions you have, nd grab this one!
