Description:

1989 Toyota Pickup SR5

A very fine example of a one owner toyota 4x4 pickup truck. The extremely low original miles, and the quality care that it has had its entire life really shows. Garage kept, and used very sparingly by the elderly engineer gentleman that lovingly cared for this truck it's entire life. It was special ordered by him with the exact options that he wanted, coveted 22RE engine, 5 speed manual transmissions, SR5 package with factory blue stripes, over light blue metallic paint, with blue cloth interior. Also optioned with Tilt wheel, factory air conditioning, styled steel wheels, in dash digital clock, intermittent windshield wipers, full carpet floors, split bench seat with arm rest (seats 3), and sliding back glass. An aftermarket single din CD player was added a few years back. It was professionally installed and works great.
Mechanically the truck is in excellent condition, and it runs perfectly. It starts, stops, and drives exactly as it should. When running, it runs extremely smooth, no odd ticks, or tapping noises. The truck doesn't smoke, or leak any fluids at all. Tires are 95%, and under a year old. When the tires were installed the wheels were restored. They were checked for run out, bead blasted, and powder coated a gray/silver color. When the tires were balanced, it was insisted a static wheel balance be done to keep the wheel weights on the inside to prevent scratching of the outside of the wheels. New lug nuts were also installed at that time. The truck has had faithful maintenance since day one, it has new oil in it now as a matter of fact, and a recent tune up. Clutch master cylinder and slave was recently replaced, along with the disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and pilot bushing. This is a turn key truck with no issues, just enjoy it as it is.
The body on the truck is in fabulous shape, the truck under went a full paint job recently. There was absolutely no rust anywhere on the body, and very minimal dings and dents to be repaired. The truck has never been in any kind of major collision or wreck. All the body panels on the truck are original, the only exterior piece that's ever been replaced on the truck is the valance on the bottom of the front bumper. It was a little bent up, so I opted to replace it with a new piece rather then try and straighten it. All fasteners are in place on it as they should be. As you can see in the pictures, the body is very straight, and the paint is bright and shiney. New factory SR5 stripes were installed after the new paint cured. You may have noticed the rear stickers on the tailgate are a slight deviation from the originals. The Toyota purists I'm sure picked up on the slight change. The factory decals on the rear are more in line with a first generation Toyota 4x4. I opted for them over the 1989 decals for the tailgate because I really like the classic 4 wheel drive and SR5 decals that came on the first gen 4x4's over the set that came on this truck when new. The side decals are factory style, and exactly as they were when the truck was new.
Over all the truck is in amazing condition, and extremely comfortable to operate. It's quiet, smooth, and a real joy to drive. Any potential buyer will love it's road manors, how it lacks slop in the steering, and just how cozy the interior is. The shift on the fly 4x4 enables easy shifting in and out of 2wd to 4wd high with a pull of the transfer case handle. Auto locking hubs will keep you in the cab, and out of the mud or weather as well. No manual locking hubs to get out, and fiddle with on this truck. The rear jump seats fold up and down for more storage in the extra cab area as needed. With seats down, and armrest up, there is a total of 5 positions (seat belts) for seating in this truck.
Email through eBay with any questions, I'll answer promptly. Send a phone number if you'd prefer to speak on the phone. I accept and prefer cash on the sale, but if you are not picking up in person a cashiers check from a major institution or wire transfer will suffice. I will cooperate with your shipper, or can recommend a good one if you need. I expect a good deal of interest in this truck as beautiful as it is, so please do not hesitate to ask any and all questions. This is a No Reserve auction with a buy it now option. Thanks!
