1987 Toyota Corolla FX-16

Here is one you don't see very often. Most have rotten away and since forgotten about Toyota's shot at the VW GTI. Sporty high-revving 4A-GE paired with a lightweight and nimble chassis, makes the grocery run a little more exciting. We have the dry New Mexico desert to thank for this time machine. It is completely RUST FREE. Paint is original and starting to fade, with the roof in the worst shape (numerous cracks and chips). Interior is in very good condition, the dash has a crack on the passenger side. The 16 valve 4A-GE under the hood is completely unmolested with all OEM goodies intact. It runs a little rough when cold, once warm revs great and makes good power. 5-speed shifts smooth through all gears. Four wheel disc brakes, this thing stops on a dime. I could not get the AC to blow cold, compressor turns on, might need a recharge (R12). Everything else seems to work well.
I purchased this 6 years ago with the intent of swapping in a 4A-GZE for autoX. I couldn't bring myself to tear into this preserved beauty, so it has been sitting in the same garage spot since. Time to make room for more passion projects, this classic needs a new home. Car is located in Niagara Falls, NY.
