1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

This 1974 Carrera Targa is a very rare 911. One of the most rare in fact. Not only is it the first year of the Carrera in the US, but it is 1 of only 246 US Carrera Targas built this year. This car has a clean title and is completely NUMBERS MATCHING ... as can be seen by the attached Certificate of Authenticity and pictures.
The car runs very strong and idles perfectly ... as can also be seen by the attached picture showing AF ratio of 14.6 ... which it runs at both at idle and under throttle. I recently installed a new gas tank and also had the entire fuel injection system professionally cleaned so the fuel system is like new from front to back. The car didn't run or idle perfectly before this but now it does ... which is exactly the objective I was after. The interior is in amazing condition and there are zero cracks in the dash.

The car is not perfect, however. The car was repainted in black years ago and the paint job was mediocre to poor. The car leaks oil ... though most of them do from this era. I did remove the radio from the dash, as can be seen in the pictures, and intended to put a Rennline block off plate to go along with the RS vibe, but just haven't gotten around to it ... therefore the "hole" in the dash. Also, the driver's seat has a small split in one of the stitched seams in the seat back.
I have a large Porsche collection and am paring it back by a few of my cars. Thus the reason I am selling this. I bought this car 4-5 years ago as I knew the future value due to its rarity. However, I actually purchased a second 1974 Carrera Targa about 2 years ago ... for $78,000 ... and I decided to keep just that one.
I am starting the auction BELOW the low value on NADA for this car ... as well as below what I have invested in this car ... and have set zero reserve as I want to move it along ... so someone is going to get a very good deal.
